On 2/9/16, I purchased a queen sized latex rubber bed set and frame from Hawn Bedding in Lee Summit. At the time of the sale, I was told by Mark that there was a 10 year warranty on the product. Three weeks after I got it home, the bed started squeaking. I called Mark and he said he would send someone out.

Two people came out, examined the bed and heard the squeaking, and said the squeaking was not normal and that they "thought" I needed a new box springs. A new box springs was delivered the following week.

A few weeks after (April) I got the new box springs, it started squeaking. I called Mark and he asked if I could investigate where the squeak was coming from (Having customers do repair diagnosis???)and call him back. I looked at the bed and couldn't determine what the issue was so I called and left Mark a message. I never received a call back.

I called again in May and was told Mark would be on vacation. I asked to speak to a manager or someone who could help me and was told, “I just sell, I don't take care of problems' I asked about the warranty, which I never got a copy of, and was told that "we don't send them out, but we take care of our customers"

Mark finally called me and said the squeaking was normal due to it being a two sided mattress. I asked why I wasn't told that in the first place and why his crew said the product was defective. Dead silence. Mark said there was nothing else to be done on this.

I called two national companies and they told me that two sided mattresses do not squeak. Both said that is a ploy used to not have to fix/replace issues with product.

There was misrepresentation (warranty), contradictions (crew saying defective product, Mark saying squeaks are normal)

Hawn bedding takes advantage of elderly consumers (I am 61) and is deceptive about their products and services

Hawn Bedding is the only place to buy a mattress. I bought my first Hawn mattress when I needed a King size waterbed replacement mattress, we have slept on it for 16 years. So we decided it was time for a new mattress. So I called Hawn & told them it was time for a new mattress. So I searched the website, clicked on product line, I basically decided on a Latex mattress. The man working the showroom that day says springs cause pressure points. So no springs, the cheaper foundation & a Soft Latex mattress. They delivered today, & took my old mattress & foundation, that a church will get to hand to a person or a family that needs a mattress. How wonderful is that? I recommend Hawn Bedding very highly, they have been in business almost 100 years. They have been in the Kansas City area all of the time. They make the mattresses right @ the location of their showroom. Great family, great employees that delivered my mattress. I asked for the last stop of the day, and the worked it out just like that. The man that sold me my mattress, said we will do anything to make the customer happy. All the employees I have talked to all have great knowledge of the mattresses they sell. I love my new mattress. Not Counting Sheep- I had heard of Hawn Bedding Company as long as I can remember but had never tried them until recently. With such a long standing history in the area, I thought, "Why not?". My purchase took place at the Lee's Summit location. During my first visit two weeks ago, I spoke to a long time employee that explained the construction of the bed as well as the history of the company. I walked away feeling sure of my future purchase. This past Tuesday I returned to purchase my box spring and mattress. I expected the three day wait time for delivery as it was explained to me before. Instead, the salesman said, "Oh no, you can have your bed delivered tomorrow." I was shocked. He explained that it would be built that day and delivered the next. He pointed to the window in the factory, and showed me the spring frame that would soon be my bed! The set was delivered the next day by two great guys that were polite and took their time to explain the rotation and flip of the mattress and how often it should occur. They referred me to the website as well as informing me of other details I needed to know to extend the life of my mattress. The end result? It was the best sleep I've had in years.
