I’ve been going to this thrift store for years and by far the best in the area. Always had nice staff, good selection, clean, and the best prices anywhere. I learned more about their mission when my daughter’s girl scout troop volunteered here. 100% volunteers and 100% proceeds go towards helping the homeless in our community. I have shopped and donated so many car fulls to this place because I believe so much for what they do unlike other thrift stores in the area where a high % of proceeds actually go to the CEO and prices are outrageous for used items (Red Racks) which I refuse to shop at. Over the past few years there has been a management change and this place is going downhill fast!! Prices are going up and the staff is beyond rude!! I have some coupons from donating so many car fulls to this place. I went to use one one day and they said I used one the other day and accused me of stealing coupons!!! Senior day on Wednesdays 50% off used to be packed and shopper’s carts full. I went last week and now it is only 25% off. There were few shoppers and those there bought very little. The manager guy, another lady that seems to be in charge, and a couple of other older ladies are there almost everyday now and all are equally rude! I can’t imagine they are volunteering that much time and I question whether the proceeds are still going to the homeless or lining their pockets which is despicable! My mom went there one day and upon leaving she noticed her receipt stated $30 (correct) but they charged $60 to her credit card. She immediately went back in and they argued with her in front of all, actually accused her of stapling a different receipt to the register receipt, or basically stealing. The manager came over and accused her of stealing and they were not going to refund her money until my mom pointed out that the date and time matched on the receipts. They didn’t apologize, they rudely took out cash from the drawer, shoved it at her, and walked off. My mom was mortified! The new management is destroying a place that used to be amazing and is hurting the mission.Very sad.....looks like greed is their number one...
Read moreSome things I think thrift stores need to remember is these places were opened to the public for those who can't afford to go to actual stores. I purchased today two chairs and table all together was 76 dollars. When I had asked for assistance on possibly bringing the total down since it's for my apartment and I have nothing to sit or eat at( which I had explained to the manager.) she made passive aggressive comments about how I didn't need to explain all that and they look up the pricing for things and put it on the display for 75 percent of what the cost is. Meaning they charge more for used items to make the absolute most. That's ridiculous. At any other thrift stores you're able to talk down on the price because they are DONATED ITEMS FOR THOSE WHO CANT AFFORD FULL PRICE ITEMS. I just don't agree with taking advantage of those who are in need. Thank you. Also I didn't catch her name she was Hispanic women. She was...
Read morealways a little disorganized in a bit of a disaster on senior citizen day. Some things are the most awesome prices ever. I collect children's books and take them to a foster Center. They always need books. I spent a lot of time looking today and there were some good ones. On the other hand there's some miniature tea sets that are very tiny on the way in that were marked $8 a piece they were not new. I bought them new at hobby lobby for $5 a piece so things like that I wonder exactly what the price guide line is. That being said, the people are wonderful and I love love love half-price day. I have donated before but it was somewhat difficult when I could not get anyone to come to the back dock. I have some limited mobility and I almost left without leaving it there was just no one...
