McKeever's Market & Eatery — Local services in Lee's Summit

If you want to find a store with poor hygiene and where your adolescent children are left to clean! this is the place!!!   You would think that a store this big and popular would have cleaning personnel to keep the place clean, especially the restrooms.

However, who do you think they send to keep the restrooms clean?

The teenage cashiers who have to clean restrooms in addition to serving customers! there is not only one but 4 toilets to clean!

My daughter was instructed to clean the four toilets; she, except for this one occasion, never had any problems cleaning the bathroom, but this time, one of which had blood on both the inside and outside of the toilet.  There was a significant amount of blood in the bathroom, according to my daughter. and was the men's restroom. Why would the men's restroom have blood?  Her manager didn't consider it a big deal and told her that she has to clean it.

Do you have any idea how dangerous cleaning blood may be? My 17-year-old daughter was more aware of the risks of cleaning blood and, worse, there is a protocol way to do so.  She is still a child, and she did it because she didn't want to get in trouble. After this, I personally advised my daughter to depart if she perceived any form of disrespect after this, not to mention Janice's (supervisor) behavior toward my daughter differs from that of her colleagues, which implies that discrimination is the only possible explanation.

The color of the blood is visible when it is fresh; I have understood that the blood did not appear fresh, leaving a stain after cleaning. , indicating that the blood had been there for a few hours or possibly since the day before. She arrived at 10 a.m., which meant that no one had wanted to clean earlier. Why????? Clearly they were waiting for one of the kids to arrive!!! sadly was my daughter but could have been your kid!!

I'm a rigorous mother; I am not here to provide a deliberate defense of my daughter, as I am the first to correct her when she commits an error.

If you desire to have employees who perform janitorial services , it is imperative that you employ well-paid and experienced personnel. I own a cleaning company, and can assure you that cleaning a single bathroom does not cost $13 per hour, let alone four!!!

My daughter is an honor student who participates in a variety of school activities that are not open to all students. Such activities necessitate discipline, respect, excellent behavior, great grades in order to be enjoyable, plus going to a nursing school and online college credit while she is still in high school.  I am disclosing this information to provide you with an understanding of how disciplined and responsible my daughter is, and the way she was treated...

There is exactly one reason that I can see to choose this store over Supertarget across the street: the bakery. Yes, the store is sparkling and neatly merchandised. Yes, there are your typical brands. But the Supertarget is like that too; in fact, it's the nicest one I've ever been to. McKeever's does nothing to make itself more appealing than typical stores, other than the bakery and the aesthetics. The prices are higher, there are hardly any employees on the floor, and the brands are all your typical ones. There is no special attention given to local products, there are few luxury/high-end products to add another dimension to the store's appeal, and no health-conscious department. Even my local Hyvee has one of those! Tellingly, I went on a Saturday afternoon, and it was dead. I asked the cashier if that was normal for Saturday, and he said it was.

McKeever's needs to rethink its model. There is no Whole Foods or Trader Joe's in the area, just a Sprouts. In a suburb like LS, Mc Keevers might do much better if it would appeal to the WF and TJs crowd. I'd love to support a local store like that, if the prices were comparable. For regular brands, why would I go here when I can buy the same stuff and much more...

Very disappointed today. I called yesterday at 4pm about bugs in my broccoli, they were completely covered in aphids. I called to let them know so they could take them off the shelves and I said I didn’t need a refund I just wanted to let them know. The woman I spoke to said they would make it right and that I could come in for a refund. After thinking about how expensive it was, I decided to come in today (I bought it the day before yesterday) and they told me they couldn’t refund without a receipt. I offered the card I bought them with and they said they couldn’t look it up either. They said I could get more broccoli to replace it but I wouldn’t be able to replace it with anything else. I don’t want to get more broccoli, the last one I bought from here was covered in bugs. I just want my money back, it was 3.99. I’m just sad, embarrassed, and disappointed, I didn’t even get the groceries I was going to get while I was here. Don’t offer refunds if you don’t mean it.

Edit: I went all the way home and dug through my entire trash trying to find the receipt and I can’t find it but I still have the broccoli. So...
