Came here yesterday to purchase balloons. Unfortunately, the customer service was terrible. My sister and I waited for an employee to check us out, they would look but say nothing. Walked past us and said nothing. Eventually another employee came, mentioned we had to wait 2 hours for the balloons because they were behind on ONE order. Which was frustrating because I saw 2-3 employees up front, standing/talking when we first came in. Even when I mentioned, we needed these balloons for a balloon release. It didn’t seem like they wanted to be helpful. It took another employee to come up and say that the “order” was canceled & eventually they told us we would still have to wait 45 mins. Furthermore, this employee wasn’t familiar with the ads. I had to ask for the promotion they had on the balloons in order to receive the discount. When I first asked about it, they just said “our ads restart on sundays.” Again, another employee had to show them how to apply the promotion that was advertised. Paid and came back, the person that checked me out walked past me when I came in. Didn’t say anything about the order, the other employee that helped earlier, didn’t say anything neither as I was standing next to her station. She was blowing up balloons with a male employee. After my sibling and I stood there for some time, finally the guy asked if we needed help. He eventually got the balloons. The lady, brushed past me several times, didn’t say excuse me. When we got to the location, with 4 bags of balloons, total 38 balloons. The 2 speciality balloons weren’t tied together with the rest of the balloons. They used them to tie the bags together, so we end losing one of the big balloons due to this reason. This may seem like minor inconveniences. The point is, I came here to expect the same experience I seen several over customers that didn’t look like me did. I came in and felt unwelcome and unseen. What was even funnier was seeing several customers leave with no issues, soon as my sister and I walked past the detectors, they went off. We had just purchased the balloons, didn’t even leave...
Read moreI shopped a lot at Michaels, notice the past tense as I am not sure I will visit this store again any time soon. I placed an online order for 3 t-shirts, 2 pink and 1 purple. When I went to pick it up they gave me the wrong color pink. I immediately said I need to exchange the 2 pink ones for the correct color. As usual, returns are such a big deal at Michaels. Instead of just exchanging the 2 shirts for the correct color, the assistant manager wanted to refund my card for the two wrong colors and charge me again for the two correct colors, which would have been 2.00 additional dollars. She said the credit would take 2 - 3 business day to appear on my card. I told her that was unacceptable and I don't understand why they could not just do an exchange. As I was expressing this to the Assistant Manager she stated, "That's corporate for you, blame Capitalism!" I immediately said Capitalism has nothing to do with this transaction and was offended she felt it was the time and place to share her liberal political views. If she hates her job and this country so much, MOVE! She then was rather rude and gave me cash back. I asked to speak to the Manager. He listened but I am not sure he really understood what...
Read moreAs an adult, I started buying Star Wars Legos with the grandiose idea of displaying them in some epic diorama depicting the greatest scenes of my favorite movies. My collection grew and grew, and I was well in my way. But then life did what it does and stepped in to smash my dreams to bits:. I got a girlfriend.
So in my storage totes full of battered Rebel and Imperial starfighters, battle cruisers, speeders, huts in swamps and Hutts on sail barges, all I had was a pile of forgotten history. Where did the Jedi Order end and the farm boy with Daddy issues begin? Why are battle droids on Endor and hangar Bay 327 and not on Naboo? This is what had become if my collection.
Then one day, while being in Michael's by choice, and not just carrying a purse around for someone else, I saw this book. It was more like a connection! A feeling that pulled me to it. And when I opened it, I felt the deep, resounding tremor that moves through Earth, flesh, and soul, echoing off the distant shores of eternity. Ideas Book for Star Wars Legos. I can finally play with my Legos.
It's at Michael's, so clearly this place is dripping...
