Raising the Bar Liquors — Local services in Lee's Summit

EDIT I absolutely loved this place the first time I came in. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and kind. I loved it so much that I invited family and friends that live 15-20 minutes away to go there regularly but after my experience tonight with the gentlemen who 'volunteers', I won't be back nor will anyone I've talked this place up to. He was extremely rude to my wife and listening to a lot of profanity on the television behind the desk up front. I asked to buy a bottle of crown town that they just got in and he almost attempted to lie and tell me that he didn't have any which kind of left a bad taste in my mouth as a customer that comes up about 3 times a week. I don't want to get into too much detail with how rude he was to my wife but needless to say... I won't be back. I'd love to hear from someone but I doubt I will.

• Edit* After the owners reply we must still have some different information. The gentleman behind the counter never once informed of a one bottle per customer rule and even if that were so, my wife was purchasing after myself for her brother. I have a group of craft beer enthusiasts that would love to get their hands on any rare bottle, him being one of them that does not have an opportunity to get out there. If my wife had heard anything about the rest being accounted for, she wouldn't have even had anything else to ask and simply walked out but he proceeded to state that you were out as we obviously now know that you weren't. I would also like to mention that as she walked into the store and asked for a bottle, he specifically said "what are y'all trying to pull here?". I found that aspect of the situation fairly unprofessional coming from a big time customer. I also attempted to call the store but received no answers the night of so I'm sorry I'm addressing this online but I felt it was necessary. I guess I just expected a little more professionalism from this nice establishment as I have always gotten from the owner....

I haven't been in a liquor store in probably 20 years so maybe it's just different now but the store was very small and had liquor, not a lot of pre-mixed stuff. We found all the things we were looking for so, I suppose good enough.

Edit In response to the owner- I gave 3 stars because it was average. Five stars, to me, is for exceptional service/products/whatever, and I'm sorry, it was a run of the mill store. No hate, just honesty. However, your insistence that I'm "punishing" you by not falsely elevating your rating tells me all I need to know...you love you some drama and, frankly, I'm...

My husband and I absolutely love this place!!! We discovered this gem when they first opened and have been regular customers ever since!! Love the small town feel and the associates and owners are always friendly, kind and accommodating. We love craft beers and are always up for trying something new. If we are looking for something specific and they don't have it...we just mention it and it's ordered and found! We have referred friend after friend there and all of them have also become regular customers. Make sure to support this local...
