Went in for the first time today after having a less than stellar experience at a different, similar store. I have to say, I was immediately impressed upon walking in. The store was very clean, nice looking, and well organized. I also found what I was looking for with ease, which is always nice. I didn't have time to look at everything today, but I'm definitely planning on going back soon when I have more time to do just that!
One of the owners, Megan, was extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a brief, but lovely conversation about birds and I joined their 'buy 9 bags of seed and get #10 free' program. I really like that they base it on size alone, as opposed to type AND size of seed, so you can mix and match different types as long as they're all the same weight. At other establishments, I'd have to buy 10 bags of the exact same type/size in order to get the 11th for free, which could literally take years in some cases 😅 So, that is a definite leg up they have on the competition, for sure.
This is an awesome little backyard birding shop with very reasonable prices, and I absolutely recommend checking them out for yourself. Also, you'd be supporting a locally owned small business, and that's ALWAYS...
Read moreA wonderful, locally-owned shop for bird-and-nature-lovers. The owners, a local couple, were on hand during my visit, and both were very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and pretty much every other Scout Law virtue. The store’s focus is primarily on birds, with feeders, houses, and the supplies that go with them in abundance. They also stock Vortex and Athlon optics—the former being probably the best value per dollar spent on the market at present. The store is dog-and-pet friendly—though I didn’t ask if they draw the lines at, say, pet Komodo dragons and the larger carnivores. They answered my questions readily, and acknowledged what things they didn’t know; I was impressed by their knowledge and experience. Very highly recommend this store to all on the south side of the Kansas City metro looking for birding supplies,...
Read moreMy kiddos and I visited Return to Nature for end-of-year teacher gifts. This was the PERFECT spot for something unique and special. We all had so much fun looking around and had trouble not shopping for ourselves! :) With the help of the lovely owners, we chose some cute humming bird feeders. Megan and Drew were extremely knowledgeable, kind and engaging with the kids which was sweet. I couldn’t help notice they were equally charming with all of the customers, answer questions and listening to stories with a smile. We will definitely be back! The Breeo fire pits would make an awesome...
