I recently had a very disappointing experience at the T.J. Maxx located at 1640 NW Chipman Rd, Lee's Summit, MO. My significant other and I visited the store around 6:45 PM to shop for fall clothing for our children and a few items for ourselves.
After browsing through the kids', men's, and women's sections, we went to the beauty section, only to discover that our cart filled with items had gone missing. When we approached an employee for help, she claimed no one had seen our cart and mentioned that employees sometimes take carts they think are abandoned. We explained that we had only stepped away briefly and did not abandon it.
To make matters worse, the employee, Faith, was unhelpful and seemed to be watching us closely. When we finally got a manager, Ivy, involved, she also failed to provide any real assistance. It was confusing when Faith later emerged from a back hallway with our cart, especially after the manager stated that abandoned carts were not taken there.
As we checked out, we noticed many items were missing from our cart. When we asked Faith to check the back for our belongings, she refused and instead provoked us. It felt humiliating, especially with other customers watching.
I later contacted corporate for assistance, but their response was equally unhelpful. I spoke with District Manager Ray, who contradicted himself regarding the situation but hope he stand on reaching back out.
Love TJ Maxx and what they offer shop there many of years, however it was unfair how we was treated.
Overall, I felt judged and discriminated against during this experience. I hope no one else has to go through what we did. I cannot recommend this location based on how we...
Read moreI’d absolutely love to share with everyone my experience of this T.J. Maxx. Normally I stick to the Blue Springs store … however today shopping with a group of woman after celebrating my friends birthday at a local restaurant we decided to stop here and do some shopping…. BIG MISTAKE! After about 25 mins of shopping through clothes we decided to dig through the unorganized shelves of makeup and skincare products.. I’ll admit that we spent a little longer than normal but simply because we are all moms out for a day without our kids and finally able to spend time shopping for ourselves for once. Much to my surprise we started getting followed and eye balled by a couple TJ Maxx employees… It got to the point where it just felt completely uncomfortable and I was ready to leave. After my friends were finished shopping I noticed the same guy follow me from the makeup area all the way through checkout and then stand at the door and watched what I paid for. Along with my other friends. Sir, I can assure you… my friends and I paid for all of our items and we were simply moms trying to enjoy our day without kids. And I appreciate you trying to ruin our day by making us feel uncomfortable to shop in your store. And trust me… we won’t be back. I’ll spend my money in stores that won’t follow me around like I’m shoplifting $3 items… lol...
Read moreYou know how it is when you've looked forever for that perfect item and then you find it ! But alas, you go to checkout and the line is a mile long ! But no problem, I'll just have them hold my rugs till I can get back, probably about an hour! Oh, but wait! Because of Covid we can't hold your long sought after purchase! We held things for you last week and the week before that but apparently I asked the only employee that knows the rules! Good employees are hard to find and it's not her fault that nobody else knows the rules. So, I'll just look at jewelry and of course I found something I had to try on! I asked the same employee if she would please get me some help, in a perfect world somebody would have shown up and we all could have went home happy but unfortunately nobody did!! So here I sit, no rugs, no ring, no nothing but the time to write this...
