If only you could give lower stars. My bridesmaids and I had a disastrous experience with this store.
Firstly, when you arrive after making an appointment, the dresses are so unorganized that if you are looking for one specific brand of TWO BRANDS that they carry, good luck searching through their stock to find the brand you want. We found my MOH's dress and wanted to get a different dress, but same brand to get the same color for the other bridesmaids, and we looked for another hour and a half before we finally just settled on something.
Secondly, we ordered our dresses on April 5th for a mid-September wedding. We were told the dresses would be in by July. By the end of July, not only had the dresses not arrived, but we'd also received ZERO communication from Geri regarding when they should be arriving. My MOH had to try several times to call and reach her, and when she finally got ahold of Geri, she was very short on the phone and said the dresses would be in by the beginning of August and then immediately hung up. By mid-August, dresses STILL had not arrived and STILL there was no communication from Geri about any specific day that dresses would be arriving, not even an estimated actual day. One of my bridesmaids called 3 times in a singular day and was unable to leave a voicemail as there was no answering machine, at which time she emailed Geri asking for an update as we were 3 weeks away from the wedding date. There was no response to our email, and no call back. I then emailed Geri, to which there was no response. We know she checks her email regularly because when you book an appointment, the response was almost immediate. The bridesmaid called AGAIN the following day multiple times and finally got ahold of Geri, who, when asked about the dresses, told my bridesmaid she would "check on the shipping" and then AGAIN promptly hung up without allowing for further questions. The following day, we got no email or phonecall with a follow-up, so my bridesmaid called, you guessed it, AGAIN to get information as to when our dresses would be delivered, and we FINALLY got a response that they would be in the following Wednesday, this is after I had emailed saying that if we were not provided shipping information, we would be coming in requiring a refund. When the dresses finally arrived, two of the dresses were delivered in the incorrect size, so two bridesmaids spent a lot of money getting the dresses brought in only a few weeks before the wedding. When I picked up the dresses in person, Geri did not have any apologies and asked WHEN the wedding was and didn't seem to care at all that distress had been caused by her lack of communication. The dresses are so pretty and of good quality, but don't spend the effort or the stress ordering through this storefront if you want to receive your items timely or at least be communicated about when your dresses will be arriving. Find somewhere else to order the...
Read moreI’m not one to complain but my first wedding dress shopping experience was not the best first stop at Wedding Expressions. I had an appointment time for 5pm on a Friday which granit that is an hour before closing but from the time I arrived (15 minutes early) the consultant I was given was not very welcoming. When you arrive you are given a sheet of paper to fill out about yourself and wedding plans. in this short amount of time the consultant just stood over my shoulder not asking any questions about the style of dress I am looking for or who all was attending today or any excitement about my appointment. This was my first stop and I was so excited with tons of pictures I wanted to share but she never was curious or asked. At the beginning I pulled 6 dresses I liked and wanted to try on which one hour goes by really fast for 6 dresses. My family through the appointment would pull a dress and if I liked it I asked to try it on which my consultant brought into the dressing room but she made snarky comments about my family finding dresses they wanted to see me try on. She also made the comment “you guys are really going to make us stay late.” Which made me feel rushed and turned me off of not wanting to try on anymore dresses. On top of this my consultant did not really give any feed back or seem excited when I found a dress I “loved.” She was not knowledgeable about dresses and when I asked if they had a dress I saw online she answered “some where but the thing is trying to find it” and did not look for it. I felt uncomfortable in the fitting room with her as she would shove another dress at me to hurry and put it on. I did not know her name until I recieved a thank you card in the mail days later. The place is very clean, slim selection of dress styles though. I had positive interaction with a different consultant that was helping another bride and the lady at the front desk was pleasant. Overall I do not see myself returning to Wedding expressions by Geri for a dress, I did find a veil I really loved and can not stop...
Read moreLiving far from a bigger city(2 hrs) you hope for the best when you pick a specialty store because of the traveling you must do. You have to take into consideration travel time, time to try on the dress, decide to purchase it, wait months for it to arrive and then have enough time for alterations. I had seen a dress on the Jade website for my son's upcoming wedding. Having called almost all of the wedding stores in MO, there were only 2 that had a sample of that dress to try on. Wedding Expressions by Geri was the closest one. I had a very good experience with the first visit--trying on the dress. Helpful, experienced. Purchased the dress the first day I tried it on. Fitting went well. The problem I had is with the alterations and in hind sight, I should've just brought the dress back to my hometown and had it done there. I would've saved myself the hassles of driving the 4 hour round trips x 3. The first visit after the alterations was disappointing. The hem was so off. It was long on one side, the underlay was showing on the other. Very uneven. When I went back for the 3rd time to pick up the dress after that alteration, they wanted to charge me an additional fee to fix their mistake from the first alteration visit. I did refuse and they withdrew that fee. I didn't have time to try the dress on because of going out of state and the wedding was in 2 weeks. No time to make that trip should it have been necessary. I am planning to take it to my local tailor to add bra strap holders and will have her make sure it is even all around. They have a good selection of MOB/MOG dresses and for that I would highly recommend them. Alterations, not so and that would be the reason for...
