Ive had my fair share of bad dr's at this hospital yes, but I have also had one of the most amazing Dr's ever! My husband recently received medical attention at the Lehighton Hospital, however this time the Dr we had was amazing. We had a female Dr in the emergency room(I can't remember her name...sorry)who was reassuring, caring, responsive, she explained every single detail about what our next step is, she also showed us a chest xray image of my his heart being enlarged, and what we can expect about my husbands congestive heart failure and enlarged heart. Now mind you my husband is only 34yrs old, once admitted into the hospital and in his room Dr. Kaun came in shortly after, now it's like 9pm or 10pm at night mind you, he came in, he pulled up a chair and sat right next to the both of us and really explained exactly what was going on with my husband and what some of the options we have are in order to figure out what and why a 34yr old seemingly healthy guy is suffering from congestive heart failure and an enlarged heart. At one point their was noise coming from the hallway and Dr. Kaun asked the nurse to please close the door, in order for us to hear everything he was explaining. This Dr was so personable and he was Real with us. He didn't tell us what he thought we wanted to hear, he told us the truth, which was the most important part of my husbands care. He said he wasn't excatly sure of what course of action he would take but he reassured both my husband and myself that he would use all his means possible to help my husband and to care for him in the best possible way. Dr Kaun is an amazing Doctor, I felt safe knowing that my husbands health was in his hands, I can't say enough about how grateful an how thankful we both are today for Dr Kaun's professionalism, his empathy, his willingness and for him having such a personnel approach that he actually understood how we felt after finding out all of this devastating news in a few hours time. He truly went above and beyond for a complete stranger. We were both so scared of what could happen and what was going on, how did he get this.... Dr. Kaun helped ease our minds alittle and we knew he was gonna help my husband anyway possible.
We truly want to Thank Dr. Kaun for caring for my husband and also thank him for being so open, so personnel and supportive when we needed it the most! I swear he is the reason my husbands health has improve as well as it has in a short period of time. He believes in his patients, he listens to their concerns and fears. Thank...
Read moreWent there last week in severe pain. Have had to go six times last couple months was told need a mri. Couldnt get into regular dr so went bck had blood pressure of 160. Was see by dr. Keen. He treated me like i was a worthless human and drug seeking even though i repeadly said dont want your pain meds. Whole time was whispering to the nurse talking badly about me. Had no concern in the world that my blood screen from my other dr showed low iga half what were suppose to be and my mvp was really low and albumin levels were high. He told me i was dooding over my health like a wife over her husband his exact qoute. Never revieved care plans when left he said waist of paper save the trees. So save the trees but screw human beings. Also when was sitting there asking why my blood was like that or if could get the mri they had suggested i could see nurses gathering at door like they were gna try throw me out. Called to file a complaint never got any response. Probably one worse hospital trips ive had and only went there once before xmas that saw dr who seemed actually carring. Was told by one xray tech how st lukes firing all the good drs and nurses. And theres not enough patients flowing through the hospital according to st lukes. I left there that day sat in my car crying my eyes out cause i realized how i could careless to any these drs there. There is serious problem in that hospital, repeated serious problem. I hope all st lukes arnt like this cause there buying all the drs offices and hospitals around here. U think they would realize that people come to the hospital when there in need of real help and at there most vulnerable. I shouldnt have to call my family to have them convince me that no u do matter and deserve better. The online reviews say it all. Cant be every person is being dramatic or unfair. No there is a serious problem in this place especially but also in the healthcare industry. I wonder to myself how do they all sleep at night. Maybe they just have...
Read moreI was in the ER on 9/13/15, for complaints of dizziness, lightheadness to the point of ,possibly, falling because of weakness in my legs, and trembling of hands, My doctor was Dr. Toni Marcheskie. She ordered blood test, CT Scan, Xray, and a urine test. All came back as negative, but was told that the report came back, that there was some blood, some bacteria,...etc. She told me that I have an UTI . I told her, that it wasn't a bladder infection, because I would have known if I did have one. I've had UTI's over the past 40 years(I self cath myself). If I had a UTI, I would know it, and I would be at home, in bed in so much pain, and would have had to call an ambulance to get here. I tried to tell Dr. Marcheskie, that it couldn't be a UTI. She didn't want to listen to me. SHE WAS RIGHT AND THAT WAS FINAL!!!! At the time I was asked to give a urine specimen, I saw that there was a "little person" in the room next to me and he also gave a urine specimen, at the same time. I feel that the specimens were mixed up, because when the nurse brought a urine cup in, to put one of my named sticker on it, I noticed that it was completely full. When I gave mine, of which I was only able to give a half cup, because I spilled some on the floor and it was all that I was able to get out. My thinking is that, my test was his, and his was mine. This really added to my already anxiety and depression. I hope you will look into it. Thank you. Faith Hagan
P. S. It ended up, that my symptoms was because of medication(Effexor) that I was taking for depression, and had been on it for about a month. Dr. Paul Gross, finally took me off of it, and the symptoms have subsided some, but is not completely out of my system. I am still feeling some...
