Absolutely LOVED this place. The reviews who complain are probably the people you wish went on a different day that you. Like, Oh man, why did THEY have to be here today. Those people. This is private property, and there are rules! It's also a business! If you don't like it don't go. The lady at the front was a little short, at first, although she was being bum-rushed with people asking her questions and throwing money at her... When I waited my turn and then walked up to her and said, I'm new here and I have NO IDEA what to do. She explained it all very patiently to me. I think there are a lot of people who show up here and have their short pants in a twist, because it seems she has to deal with a lot of jerks. She was very pleasant and nice. That was the first 5 minutes of my experience...
As for the rest of the place, AMAZINGGGGG!!! If you are an expert or a novice this place is fun. Our group had all types. My wife had never done anything like this before in her life and she had a great time. Some of the trails are crazy, but there are plenty of tame ones too.
I would advise you go in a group of 2 or more should someone need help. Bring ropes, straps, (or a winch), etc. We used a strap one time to pull some one back to their wheels from their side. No injuries and had a great time....
Read moreLet me preface with, I’m from the DFW area and have been to this trail with family and friends a few times. The scenery is beautiful and the trails themselves are nice but there are a few customer service issues that need to be corrected. You pay $25 a person and although that isn’t outrageous there are other trails within 45 minutes that charge less and offer a towing service (that is a separate fee but 100% worth it.) Having access to a large body of water, there should be a towing service if you get stuck. For myself and the crew I ride with, we don’t ride to get stuck but things happen. Today, we were cruising the creek bed that leads to the Red River and there is one point that is like quick sand. Our friends side by side literally was sucked down and it took 3 hours and a lot of friendly riders who helped pull him out. The people who helped us knew that this certain part was tricky but NO ONE who took our money warned us or advised us to stay away from this part of the creek bed. We paid $25 a person to pull an 1300 lb side by side for 3 of the 4 hours we were there. Again, why isn’t there a towing service for such a big place? There were 8 people who helped us and all of our lives could’ve been in danger with zero cell phone service. I’m not saying to avoid these trails but...
Read moreWOW!!!!! I do not know where and how to start except that I will never go back and Please please take my advice and and do not go and take your family unless you want a nightmare experience and carry your own gun for protection. The older man that runs the campsite is a bit crazy. He harrassed me and my sister in law when we first arrived and went to the bathrooms. He wanted to see our wrist bands and we had just arrived from a long trip and nedded to use the bathrooms. He said we were not members and could not use the bathrooms. He started cussing at us when I tried to explain we just arrived and need to use the bathrooms. Scarey old man. We went back to our car and put on our WRISTBANDS and he appeared and he demanded to see them again. My sister in law showed hers and I had to roll up my sleeve and take off my coat and show him mine because he did not believe me. I feel like he was watching us. CFREEPY!!! He followed us again to the campsite after we had already showed proof of our WRISTBANDS. I just felt very uncomortable at this campsite. My family and I go camping alot and ENJOY camping but sure not this time. I visited with others that were camping there and they felt the same. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS CAMP and will...
