Another disappointing trip to a place that used to be my go to place for stocking up on plants for the spring and summer. I stopped one time last year and found that they had changed owners. The experience then was cold and left me not planning on going back. But, I was in the area today and decided to give it another go. I asked about an asparagus fern and was led to another grow house on the side where they had over wintered some of the tropical stuff. I found the fern I wanted and 3 banana plants that I had also asked about. I also found a plant in a basket with some moss growing in it. It did not to have been watered in quite a while and I wondered if it would even make it, but the small tree in it looked good. I grabbed it also as a gift to my wife for a treat since she had just started a new job. When I got to the register to pay for my items, a lady who appeared to own or manage the place took the small basket out and said it wasn't for sale, it was for her Mom, but she'd have more later. What made that especially disappointing is the difference in customer care from the previous owners. They had a manager whose name was Andrew I believe. He and the store were amazing. His inventory and customer service skills far surpass the current situation. I hope your Mom enjoys that plant. Prior to 2024, we made several trips with friends from 80 miles away to stock up on plants from Arnolds each year since I found the place. That won't...
Read moreThis was a great visit to Arnold's Greennhouse.
I found several different perennials, especially; Chicago Figs, filberts(hazelnut), Jostaberry, a yucca type plant with lovely reddish, pink flower spikes.
I bought some Spinosad and a carrier to fight the bag worms that inundated my little copse of fruit trees.
I also bought an ambitious rain tracker. Got the KC Gardener magazine for March and a selection of earlier months.
There are some lovely stone pots, as well as various art for indoor and outdoor applications.
Great service and very helpful answering questions about the...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite nurseries in the East Kansas area. Employees are knowledgeable, helpful, and always kind. Plant prices are very reasonable, and lower than most nurseries around. And while prices are low selection and options are high and bountiful. If you're looking for native fruiting shrubs and trees, landscape plants, succulents, water plants, or seeds, Arnold's really is the...
