We've stayed here over several years on and off. They are under new management now which I found to be very nice.
Overall this is a nice enough hotel and clean enough. I cant use a Firestick here...used to be because the Wifi wouldn't support the streaming but since they renovated, the new TV's wont even recognize a Firestick device. A bit of a continued disappointment for me.
When we first checked in, the smell of marijuana was obvious to us and was making it's way in to our room. The manager addressed it and the smell almost went away. The manager was very nice and very responsive and was actually cleaning the ice machine...I liked that!
I've had plenty to say over the years in reviews but removed it all since this is under new management. I think the room we stayed in had new beds. The old ones were pretty...cheap and old. I wish they would upgrade the toilets and replace the old, low oval shaped ones. It would save them some water use, something they are concerned about bieng on a well.
This hotel happens to be near a family reunion site for me. There is nothing else decent to rent around here except one house rental which we missed this year, so I'm glad this place is here. Read moreMy car broke down on interstate 64, and we took that exit-[ 150] to get off the highway. We came right upon a park and ride which was a perfect place to leave the car for towing. Right away the owner of the gas station across from the park and ride came over to check on us and to offer his establishment for us to wait for tow truck driver to arrive. That was a great gesture because it was a hot day. So from there we noticed the Dawson Inn located right behind the gas station. Asked about accommodations and got a room immediately. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were, well, roomy, and very clean and had nice furniture and a comfortable bed. We needed a little extra time to check out the next, as we were waiting for our ride from that point home. The young man at the desk had no problem at all with letting us use the room until 1:30pm day, when checkout was 11:00am. He was very engaging with a fun upbeat attitude. Nice guy. Everyone in that little town were courteous and we felt very welcomed. It truly took all anxiety away from the breakdown. Which btw, the tow truck driver and a citizen at the park and ride, were...

We was stuck 3 hours away from family at funeral next day so we missed it we couldn't get a new tire except 25 min away at Walmart she got arrangements for us to get there and back entertained a 5 year old while he broke tire down put tire on rim and back on car (Walmart wouldn't do it we tried) and the only 1 gas station close at all didn't have a air pump so we was still stuck she then even got someone to bring a compressor to pop it on rim and fill it get this can of fix a flat was 19$!!!!!!
