I want to give a fair review. When I walked in the man behind the counter was very nice. I told him my Dad (who is 83) got the gun from them and had return the next day to get a holster. The holster they sold him was leather and very tight but the guy said it will loosen up over time and use. My Dad got it home and tried to remove it from the holster and couldn't, so he had to wait for his grandson to stop by to remove it. They took it back the next day with the receipt but didn't have the bag it came in. The store owner's wife (I believe) said they couldn't take it back because "it was now used." I tried to return it today, but it was the same thing--they can't sell it as new because it was used even if it was only for one day. In all fairness, I was coming in as a third party not being there at the time of purchase. I made a mistake not realizing that the holster was also bought together with two clips, so I had thought they over charged him. (This was my mistake). When I said that the price was wrong, the guy was like my dad must of gotten something else. For whatever reason the man that was helping me, left and his wife came over to finish out the transaction. From there everything went south very quickly. The woman switch moods on a dime and was very rude. Their customer service could have been more helpful ..."maybe even suggesting that I check with the holster company." This could have been handle better on their part. I still purchased a soft holster from The Gun Store because my dad still needed one and I left with it and the leather holster. When I got home, I called the making of the holster. Good news! The company that makes this holster (MURPH'S CUSTOM LEATHER out of Mooresville, NC) was very nice and willing to make sure the holster fits correctly and has a smooth pull from the holster. They were so helpful, I am having they custom make two other holsters for me. I will not buy from The Gun Store again, but truly "Idol's Gun Rack" in Kernersville, NC has better prices and customer service,...
Read moreHad a lower shipped here the week before Thanksgiving. Talked to two different people the week prior about the inbound order. After delivery exceptions showed up on my tracking the following Monday I tried calling The Gun Store and line was temporarily disconnected. I drove by, because they do not have a website or up to date facebook page, and saw a written sign saying "re-opening Dec 2." At no point was I warned that they would be closed the week of Thanksgiving, even having spoken to two separate individuals about an inbound order the week prior. I spoke with Brownells and they helped me resolve the issue by having my order sent elsewhere. A simple warning or heads up about the closing could have easily avoided this issue. Everyone's time is valuable, especially your customers time. I will not be back...
Read moreI first called the store and asked if they had any used shotguns and if the took trade ins they said all the time. So I packed my stuff up went in and a older man who i believe is the owner acted like i was inconveniencing him by asking him about trading in some guns on another. Well i showed him what i was looking at which was actually less than even book value of my guns. I said what about a swap he immediately said NO very rude like. So i said ok and began to pack up mean while he tells me i am nuts! No time for this place. Save your money and go elsewhere! This guy was looking to pad his wallet with anything that walked in the door. I also never write these reviews but have become to rely on them when i am going somewhere new that ive never been to...
