I brought my very nice laptop in to Alpha Computers because it randomly stopped powering up. I purchased 2 new chargers and let them know that the issue was just that there was no powering coming to my laptop. I left it with them and got a call back about a week later from a woman saying they tried to find the issue but the laptop was "unfixable" because it was the motherboard.. Not knowing much about computers, I didn't think anything of this. I asked if it were possible to replace the motherboard but they said that's not possible. What I found the most odd was that instead of asking me to come get it, they asked if they could just toss it in the trash?! A $2,000+ computer just tossed in the trash because of a motherboard?? Well, I took my laptop to another company and it turns out it was a simple $50 fix! It took them less than 5 minutes to see that the charging port needed replaced. My only purpose with this review is to let others know to take caution when taking your items here. Very friendly staff, and they can install any program you want on your computer. I have a very expensive and tricky music program that they installed for me, as well as lesser, cheaper ones. They keep switching computer techs but they always have a good one on hand. Their merchandise is a little more expensive than what you would expect at a Walmart, but for a small-town business...
