I recently visited this firing range and found it to be a welcoming and enjoyable experience, though with a few minor drawbacks.
The staff here are incredibly friendly and create a pleasant atmosphere, a noticeable difference compared to our previous range, which was run by rather grumpy individuals. The range also provides complimentary over-the-ear hearing protection and spotter scopes for the rifle range, adding to the overall positive experience. Furthermore, they accept credit cards, while our last range forced you to use their ATM which charges you fees. I appreciate that they take credit card so I can leverage the points my credit card offers me for using it; not to mention ATM's are a hassle. Another bonus is that you can use whatever ammo you want, making it a more affordable option compared to ranges that require special ammunition or force you to buy theirs.
On the downside, the range itself is quite small, with only four firing stations at the rifle range. This can lead to a wait if it's busy, so calling ahead might be a good idea. However, there are more spots available at the pistol range. That said, we were alone and so our experience was perfect, your milage may vary.
Additionally, there doesn't appear to be rentals or extensive supplies available on-site, so make sure to bring everything you need with you. They do sell targets and water though. The facility isn't fancy, but the friendly staff more than make up for it; and a firing range doesn't need to be "nice" anyway.
In conclusion, we had a great time at this range and will definitely be coming back soon. The small number of spots at the rifle range is a bit of a drawback, but the friendliness of the staff and the ability to use any type of ammo make it worth the visit. Just make sure you come prepared with...
Read moreRange is cleaner than the last time we went when it was under the old management. Owner is nice... That being said in my entire life I have never felt crappier about my shooting abilities than today. It has been at least 2+ years since I fired a pistol. Owner came up to us and told my counterpart that his groupings were good and asked what happened with mine, I told him it'd been a while and he told me it was no excuse. Also I had (not knowing it was a rule, there was brass all over the place) dumped my casings and (whether he saw my revolver or not, wasn't sure) started in about revolver casings on the ground and then looked at my pistol and said "Oh so you're the culprit" and I apologized but as there was no sign for 1 and for 2 there was brass all over the place and 3 every time I've been to this or other ranges the don't really tell you to collect your own brass they actually frown on that. And made me feel crappy for my groupings on my target. I usually can out shoot my husband and the rest of the rounds I put in that target (after the first 6 I mentioned above) were very tightly grouped which is the norm for me. I was in tears seriously and I know I was probably being over sensitive but still. He told my husband clearly he knows how to shoot and said he was sure I can shoot but his tone of voice was like he didn't really believe that i could. . Come on dude, what if i was a first time shooter or had just recovered from an injury and relearning balance etc your attitude towards me would have made me not ever want to shoot again. I doubt...
Read morei honestly wish i could rate 6 stars, these people are amazing, they are all so experienced and knowledgeable, i came here today with a few friends ( one who has never shot before) and i was ready to help them get conferrable when the staff swooped in to help cheer her on and give tips as well! they did such a great job said friend went from being nervous about shooting a .22, to being conferrable enough to shoot my 1911! as for experienced shooters they hang around and will talk guns for hours, and even repaired my rifle I've been having issues with for months! i spent all day here with my small group and have never met more friendly and professional workers at a range! i cant express how happy I am, to find not only a great range, but one that is close by! as for rules they are very simple and basic and easy to follow, probably less strict then most gun ranges but enforce common sense out on the range, the entire time i was there we had at least one worker there just keeping an eye on things to make sure everyone's safe, but does a great job of not micromanaging every shot and ceasefire, the entire experience was amazing and I'm very close to signing up for a membership to be able to go every other weekend! if your looking at trying this place out it is worth it! experienced or not, unless your looking for an police obstacle course like the people leaving low star reviews at an amazing range!!! keep up the...
