Dollar General — Local services in Liberty

So this dollar general is my go to for odds and ends but here in last couple months deals and sales have not been honored. I'm not frequent deal shopper but when I have time I do look. Today I found some water bottles and ice cube trays on sale with other summer themed items. They were by one get one free. I get to register and am worried they won't ring up right so I only picked out a couple items(wanting more) and the cashier proceeds to tell me he can't do anything about the price and how rings up. That his manager is outside and it is what it is. Doesn't offer to get her/him but just tells me he doesn't want to get in trouble for overriding when the sign clearly says and won't go get his manager. Absolute ridiculous third time I have been denied a deal for the manager not being present and wouldn't even go look at the sign just told me nothing...
