UPDATE: Dustin from Noah's reached out promptly to address our concern personally. We appreciated the concern he showed us and the request for follow up on Artemis. From the response of the owner below and Dustin's response, you can tell they really do care about our babies and perhaps this was just a rare occurrence overlooked. Artemis is beginning to heal and is becoming more like herself again and that is the most we could want. Thank you Dustin for reaching out, checking on Artemis, and gathering details to put into action.
I debated reviewing this as we donât have clarity on what happened and it doesnât seem as though there are any reviews with similar experience. We were super stoked to have found Noahâs through a co-workers recommendation. We brought our pups Artemis (Belgian malinois), and Vulcan (Great Pyrenees) to Noahâs for boarding and grooming over the holiday. They wanted us to bring them for a daycare day, Iâm sure so they could check temperament and so the pups could get acclimated. Upon calling to check in on them during daycare we heard nothing but positive things. When we picked them up, again, nothing but positive things about how close our pups are, how loving and sweet Artemis is etc. We boarded them over Christmas as we were out of state and couldnât bring them with us. We trusted Noahâs and now we are somewhat disappointed and will likely never board our babies with anyone again. When we picked our babies up Tuesday they were excited to see us. When we got them to the car we noticed Artemis had a scrape on her nose (nothing deep but noticeable) and Vulcan clearly had an accident at some point recent (he had a feces stain on his fur). My partner and I wondered about Artemis on the drive home as no one had communicated any issues over the course of the stay or upon pick up. While driving back to BA Artemis wouldnât leave her foot alone. We looked at it when we got everyone out of the car and she clearly has a spot where her toenail was trimmed too short and had been rubbing her paw raw. Additionally, she wasnât really her happy, fun spirited, excited head out the window self on the way home. When we got inside our home, I called to check if something happened to her (if she got in a scuffle or gave them a hard time grooming her). The staff who answered was kind, put me on a brief hold, and came back stating she had maybe rubbed her nose on the door (going in and out) of the boarding room so much but hadnât been in any situations and was pleasant while she was groomed. I thanked them for the info and hung up. A few hours later, Artemis wasnât walking on her foot at all. We took her to the vet and they thought maybe her foot was fractured or broken. They concluded from X-rays it was likely a sprain and prescribed some antibiotics and some pain meds. She still isnât acting herself and has been leery towards me when Iâve tried to care for her. At the very least, I would have appreciated someone verbally stating they saw the marks or had cut her nails too short causing an issue. Or at least, if she wasnât settling enough to be groomed, call us and let us know. We likely would have told you not to continue her grooming instead of potentially traumatizing her. It mostly irks us that we werenât called or notified at pick up. Additionally, we spent $425 for boarding and grooming for 3 days and the additional cost for the vet visit (Iâm sure it wasnât cheap but partner paid). Lastly, if we paid for grooming and come to pick our pup up and he has feces on his behind fur, you could at least rinse it off.
I do love the fact that this place seems to care about the pups, provides a lot of extras, and does caring activities with the pups. However, it wonât be enough for us to return. Pics attached of Artemis, didnât think to take a pic of Vulcan as it wasnât as bad as the situation...
Read moreUpdate: The owner's responded to my review within a couple of hours of the posting. They listened and were responsive to the issues. I have to thank them for being truly caring business owners. I feel that I can continue to bring my dog there as well as give recommendations to my friends for their dogs. Thank you again. I have boarded my dog at Noah's several times and usually have had a exceptional experience. However the last two times I boarded him were not up to par. Both times he has come home with issues on his paws the first time his nails were cut too short so much so that you could tell he was hurting when he walked. This last time it looked like there were blisters on the pads of his paws. I did attempt to address the two short nails with the manager and she was exceptionally rude and wouldn't even entertain that there could possibly be an issue. The last time I sent him not only were there blisters on the pads of his paws but when I got him home I noticed that his rabies tag was missing and the his ID tag isn't his ID tag so they apparently noticed that some tags fell and put someone some other dogs on mine and not his rabies tag. It took three or four phone calls to get them to even look for his rabies tag I had to call back a fifth time and they told me they found it and that they would give it to the manager to send to me. I waited about 10 days and called back because I had not received it yet and I was told that the manager had already sent it out before Christmas. As of this writing I still do not have the tag. I don't know if this is just a personnel change because it seems like this new manager or person is very inept and lacks customer service. If it's the same woman that has been checking the dogs in she's just flat out rude. It would be great if the owner would respond to this with a phone call you can look at my record and you can call me I because you need to know what's happening and how your clients are...
Read moreUnfortunately our dog did not have a good boarding experience at Noah's. Despite leaving clear instructions, she was not fed properly while we were gone and her collar was FOUR NOTCHES too tight when we picked her up - so tight in fact that she couldn't breath well and was wheezing when she got excited to see us, not her normal behavior. She was fed twice the amount of soft food on each day we were gone and the story changed twice as to why that occurred. After they admitted the mistake and 'miscommunication', they refused to issue a partial refund or offer any recompense for their misaligned treatment of our poor fur baby. In addition, when we got her home she drank her entire bowl of water as if she hadn't had water for quite some time. Either her throat was hurting because of the strangling collar, or she hadn't had any water. This is a 'boutique' pet resort, and while they present a boutique price tag, they certainly didn't treat me or my dog accordingly. The owner, "Rick" indicted via the manager that he provided the service and he was due the money. He said he had been "in business 20 years" and that the treatment of my dog was acceptable. Not in my opinion Rick - my dog is like family and I expect only the best for her. I was willing to pay hundreds of dollars to your facility because I thought you cared enough to provide care worthy of that price tag. Apparently, I was wrong. In addition, it was also communicated that they trusted the judgment of their dog bathers on the 'last notch' placement of the collar - so I guess the wheezing and gasping for breath is normal at Noah's. I'm so disappointed in this outcome and in how they have handled - or mishandled - the situation. If you are looking for boarding facilities, look elsewhere if you value the health and happiness of your pet. I want other 'pet parents' to know you will not get what you pay for and ultimately it's about the money at Noah's and not what's best...
