Formal Complaint Regarding Security Guard Conduct at Willey House I think the name was REXโฆ..
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the treatment my family and I received during our recent visit to the Willey House.
Upon our arrival, my three-year-old daughter and five-year-old son excitedly got out of our vehicle and ran toward the ducks nearby. They were simply trying to interact with the birds, as young children naturally do, and were in no way causing harm or distress to the animals.
Almost immediately, an elderly woman approached them and began yelling, falsely accusing them of throwing rocks at the ducks. This accusation is entirely untrue. I have video footage clearly showing that my children did not throw anything toward the animals. They were merely playing and observing the ducks with curiosity and excitement.
Shortly afterward, a security guard approached us in an aggressive manner, without asking any questions or seeking clarification. He loudly accused us of breaking the law and threatened to take us to court or have us removed from the premises, stating we were harming the animals. His behavior was hostile, intimidating, and completely unjustifiedโespecially in front of small children. We had only been at the location for approximately four minutes.
As a U.S. citizen and a person of color, I cannot help but feel that our family was treated this way due to the color of our skin. We had driven 140 miles to visit the Willey House, and instead of enjoying the experience, we were left feeling humiliated and unwelcome. Because of the guardโs behavior, we chose to leave the area immediately.
I respectfully request that this incident be taken seriously and thoroughly reviewed. I am willing to provide the video evidence to support my statement. No family should be subjected to this kind of treatment, especially in a public setting meant for education...
ย ย ย Read moreI highly recommend the White Mountains area to get the family out enjoying nature together. There are plenty of fun and scenic stops in the area, including some wonderful trails, scenic views, and some great places to stop and go swimming in some of the cleanest water you'll ever find. The nearby town has some cute gift shops, the best ice cream places, and the Conway Railway Station offers a scenic train ride. Although White Mountain is one of the tallest peaks on the East Coast, ascension is not something that requires much of a hike. There is a (somewhat narrow at times) road that leads most of the way up the mountain and will take you to a parking lot near the top. They also offer limited handicapped parking at the very top. The views from the observation deck on the top of the mountain are spectacular and there is also a cafeteria and a cute little museum with a super friendly and...

Tramway with its spectacular views and hiking trails at the top, plenty of lakes, rivers, trails and falls throughout the area to stay busy for at least a week. Then there is always next year- Iโve enjoyed the area during the different seasons and still have more...
