Cairns Corner Produce — Local services in Lindsay

When I first drove by Cairns Corner Produce I was optimistic and looking forward to visiting. When I finally stopped by, I was less impressed.

The first couple of minutes wandering through the roadside stand made it clear that much of the produce offered wasn't particularly fresh (and likely wasn't grown anywhere nearby). Many of the fruits were spoiled, dried out in their bins sitting in the open sun...and yet still for sale. Other items like bulk-bagged walnuts looked equally suspect with cracked shells. Inside the stand were jams, jellies, honey and pickled items. Looking at several labels I saw many items seemed to be from producers that weren't local. The orange blossom honey that was advertised along the roadside was the one honey type that inexplicably was in plastic jars and looked very commercial compared to a couple other types that actually were in glass jars. The young man and woman that were working the stand didn't seem all that interested in interacting with customers or knowledgeable about what was offered. Everything here is cash or check (check...who carries paper...

My husband stopped by after 3pm to get soke fruit. Once he went to pay he asked man if he spoke Spanish and straight up said no!!! When clearly he does. He rang up my husband and told him he didn't have any change for his $20bill !!! My husband was getting about $10 of fruit and told him he didn't have change. So my husband so ok if he can have his $20 bill back and the man didn't want to give it back and my husband said he didn't want the fruit anymore since he couldn't give him any change back. The man was expecting for my husband to be like ok keep the leftover $10 !!! My husband got his $20 bill back left the fruit and went to buy elsewhere!!! Will not be stopping by there...

We were amazed by the beautiful delicious fresh fruit, nuts, vegetables, dried fruit etc. The apricots were the size of peaches, lemons the size of grapefruits, everything was incredible and super sweet! Unfortunately our car wouldn't start. This is everyone's worst nightmare when on vacation from Utah California. Fortunately the owner and staff showed us much love and got us up and running. I will always remember the kindness and compassion of these awesome people. Thank you very much, we loved the giant sequoias, you saved our vacation. Sincerely Vince and...
