Store was nice and very clean. They have a big selection of meat and the selection of bratwurst was incredible. The meats looked very nice and the ladies working the counter were very friendly. Dealing with the butcher shop is a different story. I called 3 times trying to give them my cut order for my beef. They finally asked to email me their cut order and I could send it back. So after printing off the cut list, filling it out, scanning it into the computer and emailing it back, I was able to get my cut list to them. With all that trouble, it got LOST and I still had to call in the cut order. I was told 3 different times when I called that he would "call me right back". NOT one single return phone call. I can not prove my next concern, but in my 40 years of having my own been butchered, I have never seen half a beef only fill a quarter of my deep freeze. The hanging weight of the beef was 1100 lb. and I might have brought home 200 lb. of meat from half the beef. I am not sure what happened, but I was terribly disappointed in the quantity of beef from an angus cross steer. In all my time dealing with beef, a finished steer would fill my deep freeze. Maybe it was the cuts I did get, but only 84 lb of hamburger surprised me beyond belief. I will say that I do like the way they packaged their meat in an air sealed wrap as opposed to the old way of wrapping in paper where you can't...

We bought a huge pig to be butchered from them. We personally seen how big the hog was my son raised. We went half and half on this pig. We got half the meat we paid for. They gave us rotten sausage meat, there is blood chunks, they didn't butcher it like it was supposed to, bacon wasn't cut at all, they packaged a messed up cut of pork in a all black plastic to hide their mistakes, and I refuse to buy from them. We made our first visit to lighthouse and could not be happier, the owner and staff are so friendly and helpful, we purchased 60 of the 1/3 lb burgers to provide supper last night to our homeless men’s shelter in Bedford , the men all said best burgers ever!!! And we’re very appreciative. We also purchased one of the stuffed chicken breasts , and oh my talk about delicious!!!!
