Wow, what a response from A business owner!! I shouldn't be that surprised, you're right, we were ok with waiting because we knew we were early, but it was your housekeepers welcome and the fact that the cabin was ready that threw everything off. I can't believe you're not concerned how she treats your paying guests. You, as a business owner should be able to handle negative criticism without trying to blame everything on your guests n covid. own up! I have no intention on trying to ruin a small business and to imply that, is extremely unprofessional and immature. I'm stating the facts, The cabins were ready we got there, why not let us in, it's a no Brainer for customer service. If booking on Ester is a problem maybe it shouldn't be an option. We didn't complain about the bed because of the rude woman in the office , instead we tried to fix the problem ourselves, it didn't work!!
We arrived on Easter Sunday about an hour early before check in, we traveled over 3 hours and didn't have it down to the minute. When we pulled into the driveway, the owner was outside. She asked if she could help us, my friend and my husband explained that we were checking in and knew we were a bit early, she then said, well it's Easter sunday and I have a house full of kids, my husband then asked if she had a bathroom he could use and her response was, not really. He had to walk down the road and go outside, wow!!! We were then told to wait 20 minutes. While all of this is happening, we realize our cabins are ready and the check in bags are on the porch. So we wait 30 minutes, she never comes back out to us at all, so we grab the bag and go in. Really?? Our cabins were ready and my husband is peeing outside??? My husband and I stayed in cabin 2, peaceful oasis. I can't believe that the mattress has not been replaced, we didn't sleep all week because of springs, woke up with stiff backs and even went to Walmart to buy a topper, the mattress is so horrible that it didn't even make a difference. The location is nice and it was peaceful, however very close to the road and we didn't receive the welcome we had expected. Very...
Read moreThe worse cabin experience: my husband and I drove 4 hours as soon I opened the door just wanted to go back home. We stayed for 3 nights April 15 checking in at 5:30 til April 19 checking out 10:00 Am (the longest nights ever) but we managed cause we were celebrating our anniversary and we would not get our deposit back. The bathroom smelled like mold they left just a tiny bar of soap and a used hand wash soap, the bed very old (head board was full of rusty nails). Everything in the cabin was extremely old (we stayed in cabin #5). The toaster was full of old crumbs disgusting & did not used it; some of the kitchen utensils had pieces of dry food on them. checking out was at 10:00 Am before we left we checked everything; we folded the blankets on the bed as required by management everything was looking as it was when we arrived actually even better cause we washed all the dishes before and after using them, we swiped the floor and everything was put away. For my surprise at 12:43 pm I got a text message that said "Alana from Rustic Log Cabins Can you enlighten me on what happened to the bed please? I could not believe what I was reading and right away I called her back; she told me that her staff told her that there was stains on the bed; we NEVER ate or drank on the bed, I did not know what she was talking about. She said to me “I have to go and check and she mentioned some pictures I asked her if she was sure she was talking about the cabin #5 cause they might be confused; I’m 100 % sure we did not spilled anything on that bed. I exchanged messages letting her know about my experience and at then end she said to me “Please don’t get too upset. It was only a question. Sometimes people lay something on the bed and do not realized it had leaked” needless to say that was not the case. anyways I can keep going but Im just tired of thinking of the terrible experience we had; soooo if you want a cabin experience go to STERLING RIDGE in Vermont not to RUSTIC CABIN but, if you decide to give it a try go mentally prepared (or maybe after this review they will make some drastic changes 🙏) Unfortunately 100% NOT RECOMMENDED very...

My wife and I stayed in Cabin #3 for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. We forgot that there is no cell phone service here, but we were able to access our cabin thanks to the thorough cabin guide in which the owners provided the access code. The internet wifi worked well. The cabin had been recommended by other family members who were here recently, and everything lived up to their glowing reviews! We give the experience a 5 out of 5, and would add that the summer price is very reasonable in this tourist area.
The brook behind the cabin was the highlight of the visit, as there was heavy rain the first night that kept the brook running high and provided a restful sound for our whole visit. It was comfortably warm and we were able to have the windows open for a peaceful sleep all night.
There were plenty of summer activities for us at towns and locations within 10-40 minutes of the cabin. Polly's pancake place and restaurants in Littleton, Lincoln and Woodstock kept us well fed and happy. And the friendly ice cream shop in Lisbon was another highlight, every day. We certainly could have stayed another day and still not seen all the area attractions!
The site was fully equipped, and having two bathrooms was a pleasant bonus. There were surprisingly few mosquitoes around the cabin, and not many even on the private hiking trail near the cabins.
The interior was comfortable and cooling was easy with the a/c. The building was clean and well-kept, and the deck a great spot to relax. We were both struck by all the intricate work that went into the detailing of the cabin. It is a gem.
Two minor suggestions: if you plan to read a lot you should bring a reading lamp as we did, because the subdued cabin lighting is fine but needs a little boost for reading.. Also, the cabin guide should say where the onsite hiking trail is (runs through the site then off to the south of the cabins), as we were not sure about walking so close to the other cabins to find the trail.
We recommend Cabin #3 very highly, and...
