We have had mixed success with Denver area caterers over the years. Most of our experiences have been so-so. One caterer delivered a tray of desert cookies that were labeled and dated for a party that had occurred two days earlier. We didn't appreciate having to pay for someone else's recycled food. Many companies expressed little interest at catering small parties. Most of them emailed or faxed us standardized menu lists for us to check off. Cheese cubes? Shrimp cocktail? Olives? The lack of creativity and personalization were striking.

Then we heard about and contacted Chef Dennis Berry at Denver Colorado Catering. We were immediately impressed by his warm personality and eagerness to please, as well the invitation to work directly with him, the chef, and not just some administrator in the office. He asked insightful questions about our event, guests, appetites, dietary needs/restrictions, likes/dislikes, etc. He inquired about our kitchen, dining room, patio, bar, staging area and so on. We bounced around some ideas and began the planning process. Over the next several days we went back and forth and then agreed upon a wonderful menu that we knew would delight our guests.

On the big day, Chef Dennis arrived quite early and began putting everything together. He had obviously worked hard in preparation. The hors d'oeuvres were beautifully and artfully crafted, and his placement and presentation of them couldn't have been better. Soup was delicious--a palate pleaser for the meal to follow. The entrees were fabulous, perfectly cooked and masterfully complemented with a wonderful blend of flavors and seasonings. We had put some effort into wine pairings and everything worked together as we had hoped. Desert was a piece de resistance, chocolate mousse--over-the-top delicious. Our guests raved about the evening and the entire culinary experience. Best of all, we could relax and enjoy the company as Chef Dennis worked hard in the background to ensure a wonderful experience for everyone.

Bottom line--I can't say enough good things about our experience with Chef Dennis Berry and Denver Colorado Catering. What can I say about Chef Dennis? He’s truly one of a kind. He is not only extremely talented as a chef, his infectious passion and attention to detail and hard work not to mention his charismatic personality makes his catering experience truly delightful and something that you will not forget soon. Everything he prepares from his crabcakes, steak and shrimp tacos , lobster rolls, salmon fillets, deviled eggs, guacamole, crème brûlée and everything in between truly burst with flavor and every bite you take melts in your mouth, it’s delectable! I highly recommend Denver Colorado Catering. Chef Dennis catered a 5-star dinner party at our home for 16 people. Everything was perfect; high-quality ingredients, taste and beautiful presentation.
