Reliable, safe and hygienic pet boarding facility! Due to a recent horrible experience at a different boarding facility, I was really skeptical of letting my dog stay at a boarding place. But now, after a trial boarding at the Pet Ranch, I can safely say that I can travel in peace! My dog is an anxious one and takes a while to warm up to new places and people, especially men. They took this point into consideration for his boarding. The front desk man who received us was cautious to approach my dog when I dropped him off and first took him to the play area to make him comfortable. And after a night's stay, my dog came back the next day all happy and wagging!
The place is really clean on the inside where the dogs live and doesn't smell bad at all. They provide 1 to 3 meals of good quality kibble and wet food. It's Costco chicken and rice kibble and for wet food, it's Costco turkey and pea stew. The front desk man took my feeding instructions during drop off into consideration for his stay. And the caretaker ensured my dog ate his meals by sitting beside him for sometime and making him feel comfortable. You can also provide your own food and treats and they will store it, in a fridge if needed, and feed that to your dog as per your instructions. They take two toys to give to your dog.
The extended patio attached to the kennel has a cement floor and I was afraid my dog may not pee there since he usually pees only on grass or soil. But the caretaker(s) at the Pet Ranch walked him out on grass and made sure he could relieve himself. There is a bucket of drinking water in the patio. They have a washer dryer and provide clean sheets and an elevated bed.
The price point of the Pet Ranch is the best I have seen across many other boarding facilities and I opted for their gold solo package on day one which offers two solo play sessions a day each of 25 minutes. And silver solo for half of next day which offers one play session of 25 minutes. And since my dog loves only fetch and nothing else, this was good for him. They also offer a chicken treat with the gold package. This is one of the few places in bay area that offers solo packages.
They also offered a 50 minute tour of their facility the day before boarding and tour guide Bella patiently answered all my questions in person and Malia patiently answered all my questions over email. They showed me their kennels, four giant play areas including one dog social area, a few smaller one on one play areas, one kitchen area where they store food and one grooming area. They also offer canine training during boarding. The first night of boarding is free of charge. You only pay for the package you choose. In case of emergencies, they have staff who can provide first aid and can also take your pet to nearby vets. Thanks to Katie and several other caretakers who made my dog feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend this boarding facility. It's a family owned business and they take good care...
Read moreStay away from this place. Unprofessional Management and a rude owner. One of the worst experience in my life. I booked 6 months back for my vacation, called and adjusted the date couple of times and they took 100 dollars said all set and reservation is confirmed. On the day of vacation, went to drop my dog, they said two vaccines expired and can't take the pet. I asked they why didn't you tell me when i called couple of times, at least you could of said reservation is pending. They said we emailed. Nobody looks at the emails nowadays and least they should say it's pending until medical records are sent. I called the owner to refund the 100 deposit, he said i should have charged for the whole booking and u should be happy that only charging the 100. Told him i will give my feedback in the social media and he said go for it. Never seen any business owner talking to the customers like this. Couldn't find any alternate day care and ended up leaving at my friend's place, wasted one day of vacation,...
Read moreHORRIBLE! First off, the entire place is cluttered and littered with construction debris, NOT SAFE FOR YOUR DOG. Also, horrible hours and attitudes. Had to miss a flight and lost hundreds of dollars because the three children working in there would not allow me to take my dog. Although it was after designated pick up hours, this is my dog, I am paying over 100 dollars for him to stay there, and I NEEDED to take him. I told the kid working in there that I had made an error and was extremely sorry, but I needed to take my dog that day. They refused to just check the dog out and demanded I come back the next day, so instead of taking my dog home and making my travel plans, I was forced to leave him in over 100 degree weather conditions with 3 kids who didn’t even know how to work the computer system. I even offered to pay extra fees or send someone back the next morning to do an official check out. Not good people, not a...
