There's a right way and a thousand wrong ways to change a crankshaft seal. This shops mechanic broke the golden rule of shaft seal replacement and pried against the crankshaft seal journal, not once, but twice. After taking it back to fix they then pried that seal out incorrectly, gouged the crank (and seal housing) some more and installed another seal, which failed because the burrs from all the gouges wrecked the new seal in about a hundred miles.
Now I have a crankshaft that might never seal. And that means, at minimum, a new crankshaft and rebuild of the lower end, or a short block. Either way I am reluctant to let them touch it.

That being said, I have ALWAYS had great dealings with the owner and the rest of the staff. 1 mechanic went above and beyond in helping me fix...
