This was a Father's Day gift from my 2 sons who also raced at the track. The whole experience was very disappointing. We arrived at the track at 12:30 for a 1 PM start. First there was a very high pressure pitch to buy insurance before we started. Almost wouldn't take no for an answer but we finally prevailed. Then we were told to report for the safety class at 1:15 PM but that class didn't start until 2 PM. We didn't get to drive until almost 4:30 PM. There were still people from the 11:00 AM session waiting to drive. Once I finally got in the car one of the crew came over to buckle me in. While I was sitting in the car I couldn't find the brake so I asked the person that buckled me in where it was. He looked in the car and said "I don't know, this car is different from the others, when the other guy comes over he'll show you". Then he ran through a radio check and the next thing I know the tow truck began to push start my car. Off I went without knowing where the brake was. I made it 15 laps around the track without brakes and barely made it out of the exit without being able to slow down. Pulling back into the "pits" I had to just kill the ignition to stop the vehicle. By the way this was a Sprint car, number 71. Once I got out I realized the brake was actually behind my left foot (would have been good to know that before hand). I also realized that they never hooked up my Hans device. They did not have enough fire suits or gloves. The whole process seemed very unorganized. There were a lot of people complaining. If we thought there was a chance of getting our money back we would have left but we stuck it out. Bottom line, I would never do this again. Two years ago we drove NASCAR at Pocono. They were very organized and professional. I would definitely do that again but we all agreed that we won't be...
Read moreOur first time to Bridgeport Speedway was to the monster truck show. The show was excellent and moved along well. However when we first arrived they refused to accept my print at home tickets. I was sent to several areas (groupon, will call, main tickets) and finally was taken to the office where the person there finally admitted us. We bought reserved seats and had a little trouble finding them. We asked a worker who showed us where they were. There were people sitting in the seats we purchased. They refused to move because they got there first. What is the point of reserved seats if anyone can sit anywhere. The workers said there are plenty of other spaces. Unfortunately, we did not sit in our paid for seats. I suggest getting there early as the seats fill quickly and don't bother paying for reserved seats because you probably won't get them. Also there are a lot of people smoking in the stands. This bothers me because of the high number of children present and I don't care to smell cigarette smoke while I'm at a show. If you don't mind cigarette smoke and no reserved seating then this place could be...
Read moreBridgeport Speedway, also known as Spirit Auto Center Speedway is hands down THE best racetrack I have ever been too!! I have been to many tracks in Pennsylvania, New York and North Carolina. Their hospitality was hands down better than anything, ever. The layout of the facility's track, pits, staging area, grandstands, and pit stands were perfect. The concession stand was clean and had a great selection. The bathroom even had a shower. They take excellent care of their racers, racing fans and the track! Their track promoter is a grade-A outstanding dude! The way he ran everything was on point! They had an afterparty at the track after races with lots of free drinks, free food and a DJ. Im not even from New Jersey, I'm from Pennsylvania and I felt very welcome. It was more than a community, it was a massive family gathering. Amazing people! Amazing facility!...
