Todd County Fair — Local services in Long Prairie

The Todd County fairgrounds are located in the northeastern part of Long Prairie. The Todd County Fair Grandstand was constructed in 1940. It was the largest Works Progress Administration project in the county. The workers began pouring concrete in the spring. The grandstand was a labor-intensive effort. The size of the work crew was doubled in May 1940 to ensure a portion of the grandstand would be done in time for the fair in August. The workers spent hours and hours in hard, hand labor. Been going to this fair ever since I was a kid and not much has changed, which is why I love it so much. Older but functional facilities and friendly people. They also have free sweet corn one of the days! Iused to show poultry and other 4-H exhibits here. When I was younger, there was A LOT of competition, but every year it seems like there are less and less 4-H exhibits. So parents, get your kids into 4-H so the Todd County Fair...

Attended Hockey game. Made improvements but facilities still needs some big upgrades. Glass along the spectators side needs to be taller for protection. Bleachers need up grade. Heaters need to kick out more heat. Zamboni stalled during resurfacing. Staff was friendly...
