After years of weekend “surfing” in the summers I decided to get serious at 53 years old. I started working with Jeremy because I wanted to do a cutback before I “aged out” . I quickly found out he had to start from scratch as I was just standing on a board riding the wash straight into the beach. In two years I can now do cutbacks, not like a pro, but it’s a cutback . To do this Jeremy taught me from scratch : stance, footing, pop up, finding the line, how to pump, carve , wave analysis , positioning, and most importantly, how a line up works, and how to earn respect either at my local spots or somewhere new. Jeremy is a phenomenal coach. His joy of surfing is matched by his love of teaching. He has an ability to find a way to put things that you can understand. My 14 year old son and 16 year old daughter took a lesson at SPF. They had so much fun we decided to take another lesson from Jeremy tomorrow.
