I have supported TPF for over a decade, driving long distances to buy native plants at the nursery while there are many other native plant nurseries close by. I went to their fall plant sale on 11/5 and bought over $150 worth of plants. Out of many healthy plants, one in particular died within 5 days of purchase. I called TPF and spoke with Duncan to ask how I can return the plant that died. He said that they will not accept any plant that has left the facility, even ones that died so quickly as mine has. We had a back and forth about the egregious policy that is so wrong in my perspective. I have the plant with the original plant tag from TPF, a credit card statement showing a purchase a week ago and still he refused to budge. He told me to email sales so that they can change the policy and then HUNG UP ON ME. I will never support TPF again. This was a huge disappointment. They have an amazing variety for gardens; all kinds of flowers, trees, shrubs, bushes, even grass and ground-cover plants that are adapted to our environment. It felt a bit awkward coming here at first, even knowing a bit about native plants; but we finally got help from a lady named Ester who was able to help us in Spanish and guided us with her experience to what we were looking for. While they are all native, they cover the range from drought tolerant hillside cover to water loving ornamental. Very helpful staff. Tell them your soil and sun exposure and they will guide you through the available options. Most of the plants are available at $12 for a one gallon pot. They have quart size for $7 and 3 gallon for $38. Naturally, rare plants are far more.
There is a section for seeds from small packets to large bags. A book and tool area. Bathrooms, picnic area, hiking trails, and many labeled plants around.
