Hard to describe the course, without going into a diatribe on how the PGA, Valhalla, etc handled the recent PGA tournament. Giving one star as a gift, because the course was immaculate, and quite honestly one of the lot beautiful I've had the opportunity to walk. Would love to come back someday to give it a try, and assuredly shoot one of the highest rounds of my life! The rating is due to everyone involved in the fiasco, and their failute to ensure a safe and fun event for all participants. To the PGA, Valhalla, Louisville Police, and organizers, bravo on an event that solely catered to only the most elite VIPs. The manner in which the ride share area was botched is inexcusable. It was impossible for many to be picked up on the Thursday, due to drivers being herded in at a snail pace. Many of them were actually turned around as well, being told they were in the wrong area (incorrect, but seems a lot of people there had no idea what's going on). Stranding hundreds of people in the elements was a major oversight by the organizers, and very out of place. Compounded with the lack of cleanliness in the very scarce bathrooms, and you don't have to wonder who the actual target audience they had in mind. I suppose cake for the rich and crumbs for the poor comes to mind... Last year's championship at Oak Hill was flawless, and had none of the errors that KY seems to encounter. You'd think a course that has hosted so many prestigious events would know how to maneuver for success. I won't drag the terrible tragedy out as something that should have been averted, because I'm sure that all of the organizers will take heat for it. They should, and it would be well deserved. My comments could be simply summarized. Valhalla & Co, do better.

Beautiful golf course and facility, we were there for the PGA Championship and my son’s first Major golf tournament. Be prepared for a walk as Valhalla is a long and hilly course, the reasoning behind the 4 stars is the bathroom facility was atrocious. It had rained the previous day but no consideration was taken to put saw dusk or try to dry the area, there was literally 6-8” of mud you had to walk through to get to the restroom unless your company had forked out the $20,000 for a suite. I have been to many PGA golf tournaments including the Masters and the tour championship both of which tickets were cheaper and it was much more organized. I would much rather pay for food and drinks for a normal ticket price vs the $250 for a championship + ticket to grab whatever food and drinks were left ( very little) at the unorganized food courts.

Went to the PGA at Valhalla yesterday. The course is absolutely gorgeous but they need to iron out details. They had us park at the exposition center in row 35E which was down by the highway and had to walk a mile to the bus. The next thing is we read there was no umbrellas or Chairs allowed in the facility and everyone had umbrellas and chairs. Another annoying feature, when you walked in the gift shop and told someone to meet you at the Clocktower out in the front tgey made you walk all the way through to the very end of the shop that’s where the exit was, totally insane, it was a hike after walking all day all the way through this shop out around the side of the building all the way back to the front of the building to meet up with my husband. One more detail is there are absolutely no tables or sitting areas anywhere to eat so when they tell you no chairs allowed this is a problem. There’s several details they need to iron out before the next PGA even. People were not happy. We have been to many PGA events all over the country and I’ve never had a parking...
