This review is more about the people that work here than about the product they sell as I've never purchased anything there. On Saturday 1/30/16 I was driving in the area when the brakes went out of my van, so I pulled into there parking lot to deal with the problem. I entered the Market and one man asked me if he could help me, so I told him I just needed to know the address of where I was so I could call a tow truck. He told me it's 1000 Strites Road then I said thank you and went back to my van to call triple A. After just a couple minutes the same man came outside to tell me that I did not have to wait for the tow truck in my van, I was welcome to come in out of the cold and have a cup of coffee. As I was walking back in I told him the brakes just went out on my van and he said "well, let me have our Mechanic look at it". A couple minutes later the Mechanic was popping the hood and checking my van out, he filled the brake fluid reservoir then told me to get in and pump the brakes and as I was doing so he noticed there was a cracked brake line which is why the brake fluid was coming out, so he filled it again and said I could get back home if I drive slow and don't use the brakes much. I thanked him for his help and tried to give him a $10 bill for his help and for the brake fluid which he refused to take as he just said "I have been where you are right now and it's nice to have some help". I don't know about anyone reading this, but I am 48 years old and that is the first time in my life that I had total strangers go out of their way to help me out of a bad situation and be very kind to me... I wish we had more people like this on the Planet and I figured the least I should do is write a review to let others know what type of people they are dealing with at Strites Orchard!!! It's been my experience that a more normal experience that what I would have expected to happen and have to deal with from most folks would have been someone coming out to give me hell for parking my piece of junk van in their parking lot and not buying anything. Then they would be writing down my license plate number to call the police demanding payment for cleaning the brake fluid off their...
Read moreOn Saturday, I went to Strites Orchard for apple picking. I spent one hour at one Fuji apple tree section but all of the trees had rotten apples for some reasons. It was hard to find one or two good apples on a tree.
Strites Orchard should have blocked that section so people's time and money were not wasted. If certain apples are not in the season or out of season or in bad shapes like the Fuji apples, Strites Orchard should list what apples are available and what are not available for picking.
I have been to Strites Orchard for cherry and peach picking and had good experiences. But this time, the experience was just bad.
The price for U-pick apple is expensive too, $27 for half a bushel. I am ok with the price because everything is expensive these days, but letting people go into bad apple trees was not a good business practice and in my case, I only went there for...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I'm local. I've had more bad experiences in this establishment than I can count on both hands. They don't direct you on their pick your own. You have to figure out you may have picked it all wrong. However I know it wasn't my fault. And when you get spooiled fruit etc. It's on you! They have lantern flies everywhere and when I pointed out my product was spoiled, the rude old white lady told me they were fine (actually laughing at me about it) being half brown inside. I wanted a refund but she refused and said I can get someone else to "BASICALLY" tell you the same thing. I took that as very embarrassing and just left. Leaving my purchase and receipt there with no refund because she was so rude and demeaning. STAY AWAY! Not...
