I called to talk to someone with concerns about my 1/2 cow and pig I had processed there for $600. The person I spoke with who I believe is the owner told, was super friendly on the phone. Said they had been getting a lot of complaints and that he would make it right and wanted me to bring it all back to him asap. I packed it all back up and drove and hour and twenty minutes one way. When I get there he was aggitated and immediately told me on his end the only thing he would do is refund the $600 I paid for processing fee for it on his end. He then asked to see it. I was trying to show him the cuts I was concerned about and pieces that already were not vacuum sealed and covered in freezer burn. He picked up a few pieces threw them back and said that's just how we cut it.
He wouldn't even let me take the time to show him what I was concerned about with the cuts and how they were. He turned around and walked inside. He came back out side and his demeanor became extremely rude and agitated. He said that's how he cuts it and hands me $200 and says that's the best I can do. He would not take the time to address things I was asking him about. I understand the farmer told him it was small animals then we normally get, but the cuts were made so small, literally the size and thickness of the steaks. The roasts were all cut into small slabs. The steaks were supposed to be 3/4 inch, they were 1/2 inch.
I asked for two pound packages of beef and pork with everything vacuum sealed. He said they don't measure their meat. Why ask what size packages for ground meat if you are not going to measure them and they are all different sizes? I asked for everything to be vacuum sealed and none of the ground beef or ground sausage were, was all in tubes.
I drove 2 1/2 hours plus round trip to go show him everything and he was SO incredibly rude and would cut me off and talk over me. I was honestly so shaken up and am honestly just in shock at how I was treated. Especially after when I spoke to him two hours before how kind and understanding he was and. The fact he would not even address what I was trying to say and just said that's how we do it basically sorry you don't like it. There was no reason to be so rude and agitated I was just trying to talk to him, I was the one who packaged it all up and drove all around just to come show him and to be treated like that was...
Read moreI called in to discuss the side of beef I had ordered, and thought everything went well. I specifically asked for everything to be vacuum packed and even asked if there was an upcharge, and she let me know there was NOT an upcharge to seal vs wrap. Fast forward to pick up and all the ground beef, over 80 pounds, was wrapped, not sealed. When I called to ask what happened she said there is an upcharge on ground beef and I didn't ask for it! I'm not sure where the disconnect was, but now we need to eat 80 pounds of ground beef in the next couple of months, totally negating the entire reason we got the side of beef to begin with. They didn't even offer for me to bring it in so they could repack it, I would have even paid the up charge.
We will be looking for a different butcher...
Read moreThese are quality people, I am very impressed. I did a lot of looking to find a new deer processor when my last shop stopped and these guys have been great to work with. They are super accommodating, to the point of giving me a cell phone number in case I need to drop a deer off after hours. I took my deer in and asked them to grind the front and give me the leg quarters and loins whole. They double wrapped and froze everything perfectly. When I opened the leg quarters I was not sure what I would find but they were perfectly trimmed and packed, they couldn't have looked any better. They knew I was going to break down the legs myself but they were extremely professional. It's hard to find quality people in this line of work and I would absolutely...
