Cherry's Grocery — Local services in Lufkin

The few times we come home every year we love stopping for breakfast. Each time we come for a visit it seems that the dining area and tables are not kept anymore. You can see signs of this because the window edges along the tables are built up with dust, webs, and dead insects.

The servers working the line are awesome and move fast and willingly. Workers in the back can be heard chatting it up and when asked to help out a bit came complaining by slamming down gloves, utensils, food, and machinery.

This visit was disheartening because Cherry’s (however silly it may seem) has always been a stop before heading back. Now I wonder if it will continue to be that way.

It makes me wonder… Has the owner stopped caring? Have the workers become complacent?

Love eating breakfast here when I get a chance. The ladies that work in the deli have been there for a long time and they have always done a great job taking care of their customers. My favorite is the fried egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich and a hash brown on the side. They also have a great lunch buffet that is always cooked home style with great flavor. If you want a really good home cooked breakfast be at cherries around 6:00 in the morning! For sure Monday through Fridays I'm not sure about the weekends though.
