We walked purgatory brook trail today. It was beautiful. There were mushrooms growing among roots of the surrounding trees and the train was webbed with the roots, allotting forming stairs. There were a lot of downed birch trees. I wonder what is going on with them. They weren’t cut, looked like a natural occurrence. We did not see the falls today and the brook was mostly dry.
