The Right Stuff.

I've been trading with VSS since it began -- 40+ years ago? The late John Hibshman sold me my first decent bike, (and others since) my first whitewater kayak (and many other boats since), and innumerable pairs of skis and snowboards. Now John's kids run the shop, and they've recently added a bike-specific annex right on Kingdom Trails.

Yeah, you can get stuff cheaper online -- a small family brick and mortar store has got to price things a little higher -- but the new Trailside shop is a cool place to hang out. The techs know their stuff inside and out, and are friendly and personable. And for the love of Pete, they serve local Vemont microbrews and espresso as well, with direct access to Kingdom Trails in a location that will simply knock your socks off. It's really pretty up there.

There's a darn good reason Kingdom Trails is one of the top ten destinations in the US.The trail network started years ago when a few local enthusiasts went out with clippers to see if they could cut a good line. I think...

Can't thank VSS enough for all they have done for our school program. This was the first year working with them and they were nothing short of awesome. Coming to school to get students fitted ahead of time, managing gear throughout the year, communicating quickly when needed, and letting students take gear home throughout the season made our program so much more successful. I can't tell you the number of times students would come back over the weekend talking about being out with family or friends having a blast at one of our local mountains. Without VSS, some of our students may have not been on the hill at all. Plus it saved us time pulling up to the mountain each week because students had skis and boards in hand. I busted my rear derailleur and rear wheel while out on a ride this weekend and had to hike my back up to the trailside shop. I brought it in and they shop workers were super friendly and helped me understand what was wrong and what would need to be done once I got back to my home shop.

The guys helped me remove the broken derailleur and chain from my wheel (they were wrapped in there), so I could get home and wait for the perpetually backlogged parts to come in.

I offered to pay for their help/time and they refused. I will for sure go back there and commend the level of service these guys gave me on such a short notice. It really made a bad situation a lot...
