I have lived in Amherst County for 60 years now. Country Corner Market seems like its been here just as long. Use to stop in when I was younger, headed to Monocan Park (fishing), Blue Ridge Parkway (Peaks of Otter, Natural Bridge), Lynchburg Reservoir (camping), now I live on River Road so it's very convenient.The atmosphere is old small southern hospitality at its best. The staff and owner actually greet their customers when they enter the store. When you do enter the smell of fish fried chicken, potato wedges, just good food, makes you mouth water! It's a little pricey, however, it is off the beaten path, and prices are crazy right now everywhere! (2022) They still cut you meat selections for you, how YOU want it cut, they have fresh area raised veggies, meat, eggs, they have a little bit of anything else you may need. Being disabled now, very difficult to walk, the "bagboy" will take my bags to truck, or if onlý need gas he'll pump it for me! Always a pleasant experience. Great workers, great MTO food. The great part of living in the country is great town stores like this one. They have most of the things you ever need. Not to be confused with want... you have Amazon for that. But everything you could need. Fair prices too! July 1, 2023 Still a favorite place to get sandwich. Made fresh not greasy I'd say the only thing is it leaves you waiting another one! Gas prices were good as well. This place has changed drastically.. I don’t recommend ordering food here anymore I called in a fresh chicken order when I came to pick it up I paid for it and while waiting I noticed she was mixing fresh chicken with old chicken that had been sitting a while I asked why all of the chicken wasn’t fresh like I requested and she said her boss wouldn’t let her fry more… that to me was very deceitful and kind of gross so I asked for my money back and won’t be eating...
