Gentle Breeze Cabins — Local services in Madison Township

I read previous reviews, and they were accurate, the place is showing its age and the towels were stained. The cabin was extremely dusty!! The DirecTV box wouldn't even turn on and the owner said she would have to call the company and probably get a new box. Nothing felt clean to me and we saw 3 cockroaches during our 2 night stay. I expect to see spiders, but not cockroaches. I also noticed the shower liner was moldy at the bottom. Only two sets of towels were provided, which is great if you only plan to shower and maybe use the hot tub one time. My husband went in the hot tub numerous times and had a pretty wet towel to use. I recommend spending a little bit of money to buy a new shower liner, towels, a new lamp cover and a bed skirt.. and maybe some new curtains. At least wash those! The place needs a deep cleaning for sure. The base boards and everything were just so dang dusty! The check out instructions were contradicting from the email verses the binder in the cabin. One said to leave the place unlocked and one said to lock it and put key back. One said to take the trash to the dumpster and one did not. The binders need updated and so does the comment book for guests that is torn apart, and the one is completely full with no empty pages. Only Pros in my eyes were the hot tub...

We went for two nights stay. Upon arriving for the first night, we discovered hornets and dead mice in the cabin. We requested spray to deal with the hornets, but the owner was sleeping and did not respond. Her granddaughter gave us a spray that was not safe to use indoors.

That night, we attempted to use the tub. Dead roaches sprayed out (they obviously hadn't been cleaned). All night, some animal was stuck in the roof of the cabin. We got almost no sleep.

We left at 9 am. The owner told us that we would receive a refund for the second night. She never paid us back. She also keeps guests credit card numbers and their CVVs written down on loose paper around the house. Multiple people went in and out of that house with those numbers unsecured.

Wish we had checked out the BBB complaints and reviews...

Surprised my girlfriend with a weekend at Gentle Breeze Cabins. We stayed in the Evergreen cabin. Cabin was clean and accommodating. Interior could definitely use a little professional help though. A lot of issues looked like they were just patched up rather than fixed. Hot tub was great though that had some issues as well. Missing knobs and loose jets.

Biggest issue was the roads to get there. This place is in the middle of nowhere. Roads are no wider than a driveway. If you’re headed there after sunset. Good luck. A lot of blind corners at the top of hills. I know this has nothing to do with the cabins though.
