Chubby Foods — Local services in Madison

Absolutely VILE. They used to be a good store back in 2014. Now, half of their items are outdated. The store is absolutely filthy and there is freezer burn on almost all of the frozen produce. The food they are selling (such as the taco bar) is sitting out in the open with flies swarming around. They have a section with meats out and some of the meat looks to be rotting. There was a few moldy onions on sitting with the group of the onions they have by the potatoes. I went here the other day, and this shocked me. It looks like a hoarders house in there. There was a thick layer of dust on almost all of the shelves and everything is disorganized. Not everything is bad, but this made me never want to come back there again. Also they’re very rude and are rarely around. I had to wait to get checked out for 10 minutes because the lady there wasn’t paying attention. Half of the items aren’t in their system so they have to manually put it in and that makes us, the customer, vulnerable to fraudulent behavior. I really like Chubby's, it's a small town store. I go because they have the Kansas made braided bread. I really love the way the bread rises overnight and awesome fillings. Many varieties to choose from. From Apple to strawberry cream cheese filled. These are usually sold as fundraisers. My only complaint is that the price has gone up and the loaf has shrank!
