Stokesdale Marketplace — Local services in Madison

Went today to pick up DVD shelving and DVDs because our store got flooded. Drive 3 hours one way to get there. Pick out almost 100 DVDs and games from one vendor for whom we were getting the shelves from. Records from the animal Rescue had about 30 sale there, booth 1157 had records , 35's and a record player and some odd music stuff prob about 30 dollars in sales also. The owner started raining us up and while doing so vendor was helping him get things rung up told him DVDs and games were 10% off. He must not have heard him. Finally got everything rung up and total was almost 500.00 . No where NEAR the correct price. I told him such and he said " but there is 32.00 in tax," about 200.00 too much. Kept arguing and told me if I wanted to to come behind counter to look. He was determined he was right. One glance I saw mistakes. This has already taken 20 min to ring up. People were gathering behind us wanting to check out. People were leaving. Finally told him to cancel the order I just want the shelves. Told me it would take as much time to cancel as it would to fix. Finally after over 25 min of total BS got our shelves. He should apologize to those vendors and also pay the for the lost sales today due to his doings. I've owned my own business for over 8 years and have been a manager for over 30. This is NOT how you run a business or treat customers. Too bad , it is a beautiful place...

This is my 1st visit since under new management. Wow what a beautiful place. Lot of booths to visit. The store is very clean and very organized. And the prices are very reasonable. When you go plan to stay a while so you can see as much as you can. It was so relaxing and I enjoyed my visit. The gentleman behind counter running the Cash Register was friendly and invited us to the "Sip and Shop" event coming up soon. It sounds very nice would go but live...

Love this place. If you're into antiques and/or primitive furniture, housewares and what nots, then you have to check this place out. The only negative I have is the price of some of the items. Most everything is fairly priced and super affordable but some booths are pricey. Especially for the types of items they sell. Otherwise, there is something for everyone here, you will not be...
