I get roast beef or turkey with onions ,roasted red peppers and provolone on panini press so cheese melts. Ask for extra cheese. There's a lot of meat. They use premium boars head meat. . I highly reccomend the macaroni salad. 20.00 for 2 people..and your set to go have a nice picnic. Beart any restaurant. I reccomend telling them specifically that you want small med ir large and how much meat. All macaroni salads made fresh daily.    Read moreBakery Service 10/10 even when busy, I might consider returning for that alone but the front service has much to be desired. This was my first time visiting this establishment, I came in for a couple items as you were the only store in the area that has a product that has since been discontinued by manufacturers. I additionally purchased items in the bakery one because the service was so nice and two the selection looked great. Canât remark enough they were the highlight of this experience.
When I went to check out -again first time here ever and other grocers donât have their cashiers at the end of the isle chatting to each other- that doesnât tell anyone if youâre opened or closed especially if i make eye contact with you and you say nothing the first time. âYou all set? You got two people standing here waiting for business.â I am in customer service myself and wouldnât dream of being as rude to a customer especially when they look unsure of the process. So sorry youâre getting paid to direct folks into line but that is quite literally your job. a simply âhey i can help you right over here,â clearly would've killed âmanager 2â to say. maybe itâs time to consider a new career since being kind to people is clearly not your...
Read moreI have been shopping at HPM for over 20 years and wouldn't shop anywhere else. The service is friendly and helpful. The meats are of a quality that cannot be purchased anywhere else in the area. The prepared foods are delicious and there is a good assortment. I love the NYC style pizza to go.
As for Mark's comments, I would like to say that while I am what he might consider "an old white person," I am usually stopping in there in my sweaty running clothes and have NEVER had anyone look at me disdainfully because of that. As for the prices, I plan my menus and shopping around the weekly sale flyer and think it is very fair pricing for pantry items and basics (e.g. this week Cabot butter is on sale 2/$5 and Chobani yogurt 10/$10). As for the meat/deli/bakery/produce, you get what you pay for. HPM prices should not be compared to Shoprite for those departments, but to WholeFoods. HPM comes out just fine in that comparison.
Finally, in this economic climate, we should all be trying to buy more locally and this is a business with deep roots in the community. Additionally, they buy local product to sell as much as they can which helps...
