Bakery Service 10/10 even when busy, I might consider returning for that alone but the front service has much to be desired. This was my first time visiting this establishment, I came in for a couple items as you were the only store in the area that has a product that has since been discontinued by manufacturers. I additionally purchased items in the bakery one because the service was so nice and two the selection looked great. Can’t remark enough they were the highlight of this experience. When I went to check out -again first time here ever and other grocers don’t have their cashiers at the end of the isle chatting to each other- that doesn’t tell anyone if you’re opened or closed especially if i make eye contact with you and you say nothing the first time. “You all set? You got two people standing here waiting for business.” I am in customer service myself and wouldn’t dream of being as rude to a customer especially when they look unsure of the process. So sorry you’re getting paid to direct folks into line but that is quite literally your job. a simply “hey i can help you right over here,” clearly would've killed ‘manager 2’ to say. maybe it’s time to consider a new career since being kind to people is clearly not your strong suit.

What a cool and eclectic store, you can definitely tell it’s privately owned and operated. It has standard pricing for being an independent with aggressive sales and in store bonus buys. Shopping experience was crowded and tight mostly due to all the other customers in the store, What a busy place! Cleanliness and organization could be improved but customers don’t seem to mind. Bakery was my standout department for aesthetics but the deli, prepared foods, and meat department does some seriously business. Very impressed with the number of lanes open and amount of staff (holy payroll). Keep up the good work from one store owner to another (Wholesome Farmers Market)

Full of locally grown produce as well as local milk and meats. They have a good selection of items and some items that are even difficult to find at most stores. They also do something I thought died many years ago. Once you bring your cart to the counter to checkout, you don't touch it again. They unload and bag everything, then they push the cart to your car and put the bags in it.

The best GRINDERS/SUBS anywhere. Order it from the deli. There 3 sizes. You can get 7.99 round roll..8.99 medium size half a grinder about 8" 1/3 lb meat or 12" size 10.99 1/2 lb meat..on really good fresh Italian bread..the good soft kind if Italian. Not light airy. You can get whatever you want. If you like it baked you can have it flattened toasted on panini grill. A large is good for 2 people. Very filling. I get roast beef or turkey with onions ,roasted red peppers and provolone on panini press so cheese melts. Ask for extra cheese. There's a lot of meat. They use premium boars head meat. . I highly reccomend the macaroni salad. 20.00 for 2 people..and your set to go have a nice picnic. Beart any restaurant. I reccomend telling them specifically that you want small med ir large and how much meat. All macaroni salads made fresh daily. THIS IS A high end supermarket..small neighborhood type and there cuts of meat are superior. They buy from Bogners all cuts if beef and chicken. Anyone local will tell you Bogners has the freshest cuts of meat..it's a local butcher place fir the public..but they sell to highland park market. DONT GET RIPPED OFF BY SUBWAY OR ANY OTHER PLACE. IF U WANT THE LARGEST STUFFED GRINDER IN THE AREA..GO THERE. YOUR TALKING TO A NY WOMAN WHO KNOWS HER GRINDERS...

I have been shopping at HPM for over 20 years and wouldn't shop anywhere else. The service is friendly and helpful. The meats are of a quality that cannot be purchased anywhere else in the area. The prepared foods are delicious and there is a good assortment. I love the NYC style pizza to go.

As for Mark's comments, I would like to say that while I am what he might consider "an old white person," I am usually stopping in there in my sweaty running clothes and have NEVER had anyone look at me disdainfully because of that. As for the prices, I plan my menus and shopping around the weekly sale flyer and think it is very fair pricing for pantry items and basics (e.g. this week Cabot butter is on sale 2/$5 and Chobani yogurt 10/$10). As for the meat/deli/bakery/produce, you get what you pay for. HPM prices should not be compared to Shoprite for those departments, but to WholeFoods. HPM comes out just fine in that comparison.

Finally, in this economic climate, we should all be trying to buy more locally and this is a business with deep roots in the community. Additionally, they buy local product to sell as much as they can which helps...
