Transfer Enterprises Inc. — Local services in Manchester

My experience from start to finish with TE was nothing short of stellar. Being tasked with furnishing my firm's new office, it was clear this company was far superior than the other options I was looking at. My sales person, Jon Sheffield, was responsive, pro-active, and extremely knowledgeable. His role was far more helpful than any other reps I was shopping with. He created countless diagrams so we could see how the furniture would be laid out in our space. When I sent him a video of our space, he saw something that concerned him how the furniture we were interested in buying he drove the 2 hours to the space for him to measure and see for himself. He even brought a sample of a chair in his personal vehicle for us to be able to see. (we took twelve!). He was VERY responsive, and VERY proactive in diagnosing our needs when we went to visit the warehouse to view the items we were considering purchasing for our office.

Carlene organized the logistics once we placed the order. She ensured our delivery was going to go perfect.

The installation team arrived before I did prior to 6am. We had to a 2 hour window to unload two trucks full of furniture due to property management's rules. I was amazing how the installation team worked. They were fast, efficient, and professional. I couldn't believe their systematic processes to unload, get in the elevator, pass back the dollies. They got it all done with time to spare. Once everything was inside, they put it all together, quickly. I offered them coffee and water but they really didn't take any breaks at all. Kevin was the lead of the installation team. I learned he is the LONGEST standing employee of the company (over 20 years). I felt so LUCKY that we got him! They all said they really liked working for their company. After everything was set up they all went around and CLEANED the furniture and touched up and little spots on our beautiful wooden desks. No human, wall, or furniture was harmed in the process.

I highly recommend this company. The value for the spend was beyond anything. Prices were more than reasonable. Property Management even asked for their information to recommend to new tenants. One would NEVER know the furniture was previously owned... looks brand new. This is the only furniture company I know of that has a factory to refinish and re-lacquer and reupholster...

TL:DR - Full price store masquerading as a discount, used reseller.

Personnel - 4 stars. I was greeted on the way in and they seemed friendly. Wasn’t approached as I was wandering around, which honestly isn’t positive or negative.

Selection - 4 stars. They had a wide variety of office products, mostly furniture.

Prices - 1 star. “Reconditioned” chairs with stains and chips, 30% off “retail” prices (not normal selling prices that you’d find in most places). “Used” chairs with imperfections at ridiculous prices. Signs on the walls proclaiming “$39, $49, and $99 dollars!!!”, when an overwhelming majority of the products are easily $300, $500 and $1000 or more.

I wasn’t expecting tag sale prices… but “used” stores in CT are out of control in general. There is a very real market gap for a genuine, reasonably priced, used furniture store.

This place is at best a place to get a slight discount on obviously used equipment. Ok if you’re a large company. Useless when shopping for your home office or small business.

I absolutely love Transfer Enterprises and tell anyone who is looking for office furniture, desk chairs or unique pieces to check them out! It’s one of my favorite places to shop and If I had more room to fill, I’d buy so much more there! I have gotten office chairs, end tables, desks, bar stools and other unique pieces there. I had a custom fabricated desk made for my son’s bedroom (which is small) and it’s really fabulous! It’s a light smooth gray wood with locking drawers, a fabric board mounted to the wall, and a locking file cabinet suspended on the wall above. It looks brand new and we got it over 2 years ago. The team came to install/mount it. It came out perfect and my son is studious and loves his set up! Thank you Asia and everyone at Transfer Enterprises! Such a neat place to...
