Chris the Palm Doctor has kept my old Palm TX units running for years. No other device can replace the TX. The TX gives me a full sized keyboard that fits in my pocket. Like having a full laptop for note-taking in my pocket.
But sometimes I need a little laptop for travel and the ASUS Transformer fit the bill perfectly. It is small enough to fit in a fanny pack, but it runs Windows 10. I dug it out recently in order to attend Zoom conferences for work. I was horrified to find that it had come unplugged. The battery had died and it was in a state that it could not recover from.
As with the Palm TX, the ASUS Transformer was so perfect that it was discontinued and nothing like it is being made anymore.
It seemed like a longshot, but I asked Chris if he would be willing to try to open it up. Fixing it is the easy part. Getting it open without breaking it is the scary part. I can't imagine anyone I would trust more than Chris to do this.
Not only did he get it open. He fixed it and got it back together again as good as new. It works perfectly now. And he turned it around immediately. And he stayed in constant contact every step of the way. Who does that anymore?
Not only are your repairs a kindness to those of us in need, Chris. Your repairs are also a kindness to the planet by keeping things running instead of using resources to make unnecessary new devices.
Please support Chris and be as grateful as I am for his quality work and for his helpful...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but Short Tronics really deserves a great review. My Garmin GPS for my boat broke on a recent trip. Sent to Chris and his team at Short Tronics requesting an expedited repair as I was about to take another trip in a new area and really needed the machine repaired quickly for safe travel during the trip. As soon as they received it, Chris contacted me about the repair and exactly what was needed. They expedited the repair in 1 day and express shipped it back to me so I would have it in time for my trip. Plugged it in and was off on my trip with the machine working like new again. A+++++ company. I very highly recommend working with them. Chris was also very kind as I'd tried to fix the machine myself right before sending and I personally did a bit of additional damage cracking a screen in the process. They were able to completely fix it all and he was very gracious in telling me those screens are sensitive and they see them cracked frequently when owners try to repair them on their own. Next time, I'll send straight to Short Tronics ASAP without even a second thought so it gets fixed correctly and save my personal time. I also felt the price was very fair for this repair on this machine and their communication was great! I am a happy and safe boater once again in Florida with the repaired machine. Thank you Short Tronics! You are an excellent company to work with and have great...
Read moreAbsolute joy to find an electronics repair shop with personalized, informative, fast service at a reasonable price. Wish I would have known about Short Tronics, Inc. BEFORE I went through trying DIY. My Garmin Drivesmart 70 died and I monkeyed around with searching the internet, spent money on a replacement battery kit, waited for the battery to arrive, then found the GPS was actually broken and needed more than a battery. I then found Short Tronics, Inc. They fixed it the same day that they received it from me in the mail and even mailed it back to me that same day! Plus, emailed communication through the whole thing. Doesn't get any better than this. Seriously, save yourself the grief of DYI and send it to Short...
