PRICE GOUGING The prices at this grocery store actually had me laughing while I was shopping . It’s absurd how expensive EVERYTHING is . A few examples , activia 8ct yogurt almost $8 ( $4.50 elsewhere) , grated parmesan cheese $6.50 ( $3.50 elsewhere ) basic chicken stock $2.50 ( $1 elsewhere ) Bacon $9 ( $4.50 elsewhere ) their produce was pitiful . The cilantro was wilted , bananas brown . After getting the bare minimum I absolutely needed I proceeded to checkout where they bagged my groceries with second hand bags . I couldn’t help but laugh at this too- I think it’s amazing they recycle don’t get me wrong , but it was comical because they are saving money by reusing bags so you would think they wouldn’t attempt to rip customers off by price gouging . The only reason there is 2 stars instead of one is the staff is very friendly...

I grew up around Mannford and went to school there. I say this because I personally watched Phelps grow from a small grocery store in an even smaller town. Now, it has truly transformed into a multi-purpose grocery market. The store has been remodeled and moved to a new location right along Highway 51, when you are coming into Mannford from Oilton or Drumright. There are lots of handicap parking spots available and the store has wheelchair accessible restrooms and open public restrooms. The employees are generally high school students or middle-aged, they tend to be social and helpful, some grocers will even help carry stuff to your car or put your groceries in the trunk, if you really need it. Sadly , over the years , you can see that as younger people come in , who are not well trained in customer service that things are definitely shifting. Gen z? If you ask for something , they just stare at you now. Help is not generally offered.If you don't understand something , especially digitally , there. Just because they know how to run digital AI things does not mean everyone else does. This town has a lot of older people who are very technologically uninterested. Good news is Reasors is not too far. The older folk do not like change but we can meet in the middle if only they would smile and say hello , and if you ask for help, assist you.
