Buyers beware!! I travelled from Houston to Mansfield to purchase a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel Dually from North Texas Truck Stop on February 5, 2020 around 3:20pm, Friday afternoon. I called Brook Dennis on 2/16 but no one answered. After trying several times, I emailed Dennis and left a voicemail that I needed to speak with his ASAP! During the next few days, Dallas and Houston was hit with a bad winter storm, so everything closed down as we all lost electricity and water. I finally got in touch with Brook that following week and explained all of the issues with truck. Brook listened but continued to say I bought the truck as is and it’s always a risk buying used vehicles, but there is nothing he can do. I then proceeded to reiterate the statement I made asking if there was anything wrong with the truck and being promised there was absolutely zero issues. Brook said that’s how business works, but again he said I’m sorry but there’s nothing he can do to remedy a solution. I went over the repair invoice in detail and explained it would cost $4,121.23 to get the truck fixed and back on the road. The local Dodge Dealership here in Spring advised myself and the mechanic shop, that the required suspension for my 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Heavy Duty was discontinued and the order cannot be filled. Brook Dennis reiterated there is nothing he can do. He stated again the Carfax showed the vehicle was in great condition so that’s what they go by. After going back and forth with no resolution, I told him they never should’ve sold the truck knowing someone’s life could be in danger by driving from Dallas to Houston with missing bushings and a cracked suspension system. There’s no way in hell this is ok and he took full advantage of me.

There are Two Sides to Most Stories; My name is Kevin McCary with North Texas Truck Stop. We have a process we go trough to get our trucks to market. We send our truckd to Premier Diesel Repair in Mansfield. They are an independant diesel specialist repair shop.We do a Oil and filterchange,FuelFilter change and a check out on our trucks. Then we do a professional detail, paintless dent repair and touch up. The 2008 Ram 3500 in the review left went trough this process,we have a copy od an Repair Order showing we did Oil and Filter,Fuel Filter,Cleaned the turbo and replaced the turbo gasket in the amount of $1148.00. We also have a copy of the check out report that did not mention suspension issues. The customer admits to coming to Noert Texas Truck Stop with a mechanic that he hired. The mechanic checked out the truck to the best of his ability and gave it a clean inspection report. After his inspection the customers came in and Mr.Glover signed docs and Headed home. Mr. Glover made accusations and wrote reviews we knowling sold him a problem. That simply is not true. My salesman Brook Dennis treated this customer with the upmost respect as we do all of our customers. And if Mr.Glover wants an apology I will sat I do regret you are having issues with your purchase. We simply try to make a HONEST LIVING and depend on Repeat business. I do not want to argue back and fort so I will make you a good faith gesture: I will pay you $1500,00 to help offset some of the financial burden once you have updated your reviews. Again something was missed by both Mechanics but they are Human also. Respectfully, Kevin McCary
Updated review: While I disagree with North Texas Truck Stop and Premier Diesel Repair's knowledge of suspension issues, I'll accept the middle ground solution to help offset the expenses I incurred with the truck. This is definitely a learning lesson when buying used vehicles and going off the trust of several 3rd parties. Kevin, thank you for helping end this terrible nightmare. I can finally get the repairs completed and get back on the road....
Read morehey guys. i bought a 2011 ram mega cab 4x4 diesel a month ago. it pulled to the right a little when we drove it, but i thought it might just be a slight misalignment. truck ran great though. company says it goes through a 120 point inspection. i never saw that paper work even when i asked.
we drove it to houston 2 weeks later and the passenger tire (which all 4 were in good shape) busted and formed a bubble. the truck was all over the place. took it to a repair shop and a quick check showed the ball joints were out. both sides, upper and lower. roughly $1500 later they cant get it steer strait. i replaced all 4 tires and wheels but the truck followed every rut or bump in the road. we almost wrecked.
another shop found that the steering stabilizer was 90% froze up and was fighting the power steering pump to steer. they removed it and we took it for a drive and it finally drives like a truck. thats where it remains. i am waiting for death wobble to set it now..
i question if the inspection is legit. i havent contacted anyone about this and wasnt planning on it. to me, they feel like a shady used car dealer and telling them there is an issue would do nothing but start an argument and get my blood pressure worked up.
they have my number. ill be happy to change my review if i get an honest call.
edit-3 year update.
the check engine light came on 3-4 days later. said o2 sensor. when i finally crawled under it to repair, both were new. hooked it up and found the dpf was clogged. the truck stopped running properly. at hiway speeds, it would slowly lose power and speed. couldnt hold 45mph on i-45. thats an $5000 or more fix that was hidden and lied about. the truck sat in the driveway for 2 1/2 years. we barely drove it. $650+ a month. finally, i was able to save money to delete it. it runs great now.
when i mentioned the problem with the ball joints, they did yell me to bring it in, but they were checked in the "inspection" along with the dpf and found "good". so i didnt believe a word of it. and i know they wouldnt have spent a dime on the exhaust. i know i wont spend another dime here and to me, im waisting time writing this review. however, i want to save you the people time and trouble. if they will do this to a disabled vet, what would...
Read moreI've been waiting a bit before posting a review, but now that I've had my truck for awhile, I can say that I wouldn't recommend this place. I bought a 2006 Ram 2500 from these guys in October 2016. I'd been talking with Dave via email about the truck and it sounded great. I saw several pics of it inside and out, and it looked really good. It was a one-owner TX truck with a carfax that showed only routine maintenance and some work done to the A/C. I flew down from KY and they picked me up at Love Field. When I got to the dealership, it was midday and the truck was out front in the sun. I thought it looked pretty clean, but tried to look it over really well as best I could with the sun glaring down - plus I was tired as hell because I'd gotten up at 4am. Anyway, I took it for a drive and everything seemed ok so I went back, signed all the paperwork and headed back home. I got back about 1am, slept a little bit then got up early to clean it up since it had like 1000 bugs all over it. As I was washing, it didn't take long to notice some really lousy bodywork that had been done to the passenger side. There was overspray all over the windows and the repaired area was really rough. I was so pissed for not catching this at the dealer but it was too late at that point. When the title arrived, I got the original owner's name and called him to find out about the damage. He'd run into something at a gas station and messed up that side. I'm not sure who actually fixed the damaged area because his explanation was somewhat vague, but it didn't show up on the carfax which basically lets one know what the carfax is actually worth. Anyway, I tried to get over that and move on. Well since then, I've had to have the tranny rebuilt as well as some major work done to the front end. Those repairs set me back about $4k. After all that I do think I have a pretty solid truck although I'll still have to deal with that crappy bodywork sometime in the future. My advice is, don't go down there if you don't live close by and can see the vehicle beforehand. I thought initially that they were a reputable outfit, but now I think they are the type of dealer that'll do anything to sell a vehicle. I took a chance and the results weren't great so...
