Day Dreams Woodworking built a kitchen island for us in December 2021. The customer service was top notch. Doug came out to discuss our ideas for the cabinets. He took measurements and discussed advantages and disadvantages of different choices. He looked at our current cabinet design and believed he could do a similar style of paneling that would seamlessly fit into our kitchen. He said he could build to some custom measurements to make the perfect fit. He gave us a great quote and the company sent us some mockups. Once they got to work, they had an impressive turn-around time considering some current supply chain challenges. Jason coordinated with us via email and was consistently clear, engaged, and organized getting clarifications and working out days/times.

Doug had come to us highly recommended from our realtor, but when the island was installed, it exceeded our expectations. I’m no expert with cabinetry but it’s easy to tell that this is superior construction. It looks beautiful. The paint is immaculate. The frame is solid. The drawers and hinges all operate to perfection. At the time of installation, we were still unsure on our countertop, but we were leaning toward doing a butcher block. When we asked Doug, he gave us some great information based on his experience and it helped us to make a decision. We commissioned him to do that for us as well.

Day Dreams were referred to us by our realtor when I mentioned we were wanting to have a custom dry bar built and installed in an unused part of one of our living rooms. Jason responded to my online form submission almost instantly and had a mockup of our vision with some other (better) additions that we would not have thought of ourselves by the next day. The initial bid was a few hundred dollars higher than another bid we were considering but they were able to work with us and show us where we could cut costs to get us back within budget. Doug was out to our house shortly thereafter to do measurements and we had the entire project done in about 8 weeks from when I first got in contact to completion of the job. Quality and craftmanship aside, their customer service was above and beyond. One of the drawers to the cabinet was scratched up in transit and wasn't noticed until a day or two after it was installed. When I reached out about it, I thought they would just come back out and retouch the spot that had been damaged. Instead, they brought a completely new drawer to replace with the damaged one. They were very easy to work with, fair, and honest, and were helpful in providing recommendations for finding backsplash and countertop companies to assist with this project. We converted a den into a bathroom. I looked and looked (both online and in store) for a vanity and matching linen cabinet, assuming I did not want to pay the price for custom built. However, the quality I was finding was just not what I wanted, and the choices were limited. Frustrated, I shifted gears and contacted a couple custom cabinet shops in the area. Day Dreams Woodworking was the most responsive and I really liked their design suggestions. I was surprised to find that the price was not much more than factory made, especially considering the superior quality. And I could get the exact dimension that I wanted rather than "make-do" with something close. Doug and Jason were both great to work with. I am very pleased with the total experience - start to finish. (I wish I had known that custom cabinets were affordable when I redid the kitchen two years ago, using a big-box store!
