I took in our 12 year old yorkie because he was lethargic, he was throwing up blood and was having balancing issues. He was not himself at all! I showed a picture of the amount of blood he was throwing up which was alot for a small dog. She did an exam and he was very pale and his abdomen was tender she said. They ran some blood tests to see if his kidneys were failing. The tests came back high on 2 out of the 3 things they look at and the 3rd thing was only slightly high. Dr. Nancy Swedin said he had an ulcer and was going to give him a shot of Pepcid and then she ordered another medicine to coat his tummy which would be mailed to us. I shared that he had eaten a small piece of aleve for pain and she stated that is probably what was going on with him. Never did she say that Aleve was toxic for dogs or seem worried for him! I was sent home with him. A couple of hours later he was walking to the right, like when a person spins themselves around and then tries to walk a straight line but can't and walks to the right. I called the vet and told them that he didn't seem right and they asked if his eyes were moving strange too and I said no they were not. Dr. Swedin stated that was what would worry them and that he should be alright and she wasn't worried. We laid him down that night on his bed only to find him 5 hours later DEAD!! I called the vet at 6:00 am and left a message that he had passed away. I received no phone call back whatsoever, no apology, no empathy....NOTHING! The company that was mailing the other medicine did not even charge us for it! (I will donate to the humane society). All Pets Clinic ...they cashed their $222.00 check though for the worthless visit! We are devastated to have lost Teddy... especially when I called them later that day to say he was not doing well and I was concerned but was just kind of just brushed off about my worry and concern about him. I trusted the knowledge of the Dr. even though my gut was not! Our other Fids (furry kids) keep looking for him and it is heartbreaking to see them looking for him and waiting for him! How does a vet just passively not feel this was very serious and tell us that he was probably dying from the Aleve and not try to help save him or let us know what to possibly expect!! If I would have known he was going to die I never would have left him after the vet visit to go into work for a bit that day, I would have stayed with him and comforted him until he passed but instead he suffered by himself until i arrived home from work and then at night in his bed alone because i was afraid he might fall out of our bed during the night and get hurt even more or break his neck or leg because of his major balance issue!! We miss him very much and keep reliving the would've, should've and could've of that...
Read moreI truly wish I wasn’t here writing this review. We’ve been using All Pets for 11 years and have always had a great experience. But the last year has been a nightmare. My dog struggles with extreme allergies. I know allergies are very tricky to treat but I feel like they really dropped the ball this last time. My dog was diagnosed with a “bacterial skin infection” and was told her thyroid was on the lower end of normal. I asked their advice on what I should do for treatment and the doctor shrugged her shoulders and said it was up to me. I am no expert that’s why we are at the vet… to get some answers. My dog had suffered long enough and I was willing to try anything to help her get some relief. We went ahead with the thyroid med, antibiotics for supposed bacterial infection, and a prescription food. 4 weeks later and my dog is losing weight fast, not eating, throwing up meds, and still struggling with skin issues. I took her to Kind Vet for a second opinion. The first thing they did was perform a skin biopsy that took 10 seconds to do. We learned she doesn’t have a bacterial infection, she has a yeast infection, which requires different meds. Her thyroid was never low enough to need treatment and the meds caused her have an overactive thyroid. She is now on the proper medication to treat her skin infection and has been taken off the thyroid med. I truly feel like All Pets could have done so much more. A simple biopsy would have given us the answers we were desperately seeking. Instead, we’ve wasted hundreds of dollars on vet visits and multiple medications that were only making...
Read moreI will always refer friends and family to All Pets Medicine because of the wonderful and friendly staff and excellent care they provide my pets. I trust them implicitly. One time I rescued a cat who was severely malnourished and dehydrated and rushed him in unannounced. They immediately took him and provided him such good care he recovered completely. They also helped with outsourcing such as with For Pets, and he was placed in a good foster home. A couple of years ago, my beloved Guinness kitty developed cancer. Dr. Klein and his team did everything possible to save him, including a delicate surgery that gave Guinness more time. And I was kept informed and asked what I wanted for my kitty. When the cancer spread and Guinness started to suffer, Dr. Klein was so compassionate and understanding, and that helped to make that horrible experience liveable when I realized I had to let Guinness go. I had "alone time" with Guinness to say goodbye, and they let me take my time getting enough composure to leave the clinic when he was gone. They were even worried if I was okay to drive home. Now that is something special. I will always refer everybody to All Pets. They are very professional and compassionate and do...
