Senior management really needs to evaluate the staff they have in place who are supervisors/managers. There is one in particular who takes every opportunity to leave the premises to do personal things. If this person works a 20 hour work week, that would be a lot. This person has no regard for the staff who work for him/her there. The staff under him put in requisitions for items needed to perform their work and those requisitions are never fulfilled, and puts the blame on others for the job not being completed. This person knows how to work the system to have upper management believe he is there when he is not and even makes comments that he has worked until 1 in the morning when clearly he vacated the premises at noon. Played the Gallery Golf Club today. Overall I thought the course was in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens were all excellent except for a couple small areas. However, when we went into the restaurant for a beverage after our round I was a little disappointed. After ordering a couple beers, I noticed a "Service Charge" was added to my bill. I paid it and moved on. I then saw the restaurant manager and asked her what the "Service Charge" was for. She stated that it was a tip. I then said to her, "so then tipping is mandatory here? She responded with a firm "yes, tipping is mandatory". I have to say I was a little surprised. For some reason I always thought tips were a result of good service. Beautiful course set in the Arizona Desert. Not long but a challenge because if u miss the fairway your ball is in the desert with multiple kinds of cacti, snakes and other animals. Wouldn't walk around in there too much. Other animals seen here were rabbits, jack rabbits, lizards, deer, coyotes, javalina, and linx. Heard a story about a mountain lion but didn't see one. The COURSE was 5 stars. Green and in great shape considering there's not much water there and it was 108 degrees all while we were there. The service, unfortunately, was 2.5 stars. Not enough staff and the staff that was there didn't do anything. We had to load the carts with our bags, ice and drinks ourselves. And even though the course wasn't busy, we didn't see the cart attendant much. Would definitely play here again but not expecting...
