Yet Another Update: I am once again downgrading my rating from three stars to one. I called to have someone come out when our heat pump had quit, needing a new capacitor. The $125 service fee was reasonable; but charging a long time customer (over 25 years) $188 for a $16 capacitor is beyond reasonable. I am done and have now moved on to a more customer service friendly competitor. Another interesting element is that unless you are a member of their "Comfort Club Maintenance Program" and prepay, you suddenly become a sub par customer. My extensive experience with prepaid maintenance plans is not good; as is the case of any service you prepay for--the customer satisfaction goes down dramatically--which is certainly the case now with Woodall's. We noticed a dramatic decrease in service last year, but we were unaware of their new prepaid maintenance plan. Sorry, we pass--and are no longer a customer. The difference with the competitor is like day and night; and once again we are a valued customer.
Update: I am downgrading my rating from five stars to three, not even lower because we have had five year previously of excellent service from Woodalls. I realize that it is hard to find adequate trained employees nowadays, but we had problems with our annual maintenance by a new technician from Woodalls. He did not check the freon correctly on our two stage system which gave him an inaccurate freon level reading. He also did not completely clear the drainage line, which led to it being clogged entirely a couple weeks later. He also did not clean out the leaves in the condenser (or tell us about them), instead telling us to get a leaf net to put over it. (We did not know such things existed.) A couple of weeks later our a/c was not cooling adequately and another Woodalls technician found it to be a couple of pounds light on freon. He recharged it and said he would have to come back a few days later to check the copper line as he could not detect a leak anywhere in the heat pump equipment. When he came back with another technician, who had a more sensitive sniffer, they found the leak was a small one in the evaporator coil. Shouldn't all the techs have sniffers that can adequately detect leaks? And shouldn't the annual maintenance tech be trained well enough to put heat pumps on the second stage to check freon, to clear and vacuum drainage lines to adequately clear them and to remove all the leaves in the condenser during the annual inspection. We do have a leaf catcher now, however. Since we have moved back to Marianna, we have now had them at our home five times and they do excellent quality work at a fair price. The technicians are very professional and actually care, which is unusual in this day and age--and they are very worthy of this excellent review, as I do not take doing five star...
Read moreEveryone at this company is polite and professional, but don't call them for repair work unless you are one of their regulars. They don't do after hours calls unless you are already their customer. When I had them out on the next business day they very quickly pinpointed the problem. The trouble was the repair quote I received. The tech onsite couldn't quote it and said he'd have to have the office quote it and get the part in a day or two. The quote I received that afternoon had reasonable labor charges, but they wanted $1350 (approx) for a blower motor. I politely declined after they wouldn't budge on the crazy price. I was able to pick the motor up at a local supply house at retail for $550 and install it myself. I later learned there is a perfectly acceptable generic on the market that could've been bought for about $350 that a lot of companies just carry on their trucks so they can quote and fix all while onsite on the initial call. I got the impression that Woodall's is mainly in the business of selling new systems, doing warranty repairs on same, and selling service contracts. Random repair work isn't really...
Read moreI thoroughly appreciate everyone from Woodall's and highly recommend! Tammy & Levi helped to me get me started by listening to what I wanted. They didn't try to push anything else on me or sell me anything extra. Josh came out, assessed my "situation" and came up with a game plan we could both agree on. The ladies answering the phones and coordinating dispatch were chipper and pleasant every single time I called. From start to finish, this company's staff were accommodating, efficient, answered all of my questions, and in my opinion went above and beyond. David and Hunter and their team installed all new ductwork in my attic & removed all of the old ductwork from under my home. They cleaned up after themselves and were professional the whole time. They communicated as they were working to keep me updated on how things were going. David took pictures of what he was doing in the attic so I wouldn't have to climb up there.
I will 100% be using Woodall's in the future and highly...
