
What a beautiful golf course! I played this course on September 30th along my annual golf trip road trip from Washington State to my hometown of East Liverpool, Ohio. Great layout with a variety of terrain - a somewhat tight and challenging front nine with some fun elevated tee boxes - to a more level back nine lined with beautiful trees and embraced by tranquil farmland. Well-kept fairways, and the greens were as immaculate as any of the best of 274 courses I've played! I loved the old historic clubhouse - what a treasure - very cozy and unique! Read moreLakeside has been around a long time. It is basically a former farm field where they built some greens and planted a lot of pine trees to create a golf course. It is not particularly well designed. Nor are traps, to the extent they exist, and tees, maintained. Fairways are ok but the grass is long. Gets a good bit of play and they keep the greens soft. Read moreGreat course. Some "devoted fans" drive 100+ miles twice a year. Others (like me) fly 1800 miles twice a year for this terrific course basically in the middle of nowhere.
Friendly staff, reasonable fees, and don't miss the play-all-day special which includes drinks (beer included) and food.
