Foxcliff Golf Club — Local services in Martinsville

Would like to start off this review by saying if you are ever in the area, it would be a mistake to not play this course! Whether you are a new golfer or a seasoned pro, you will be met with an accepting and welcoming staff, who are more than happy to answer any question/s you possess! Clubhouse is perfect and such an awesome area to get a quick snack/drink, or even just socialize. Additionally, the course landscape is nothing short of spectacular! I usually like to be candid with my reviews, as I feel that is the best way to determine course selection, and let me say, THIS IS THE COURSE TO CHOOSE! The staff associated to this course genuinely care about making it as beautiful as possible, and keeping it well maintained. Fairways are in awesome shape, along with the greens, which role pure and true. As stated earlier, whether it is a weekend round, or a quick trip after work, I cannot recommend Foxcliff enough.

Lastly, I want to speak in regards to the couple that own the course, Doug and Paula. While playing, I had ran into a problem regarding course maintenance. Upon expressing this, I was greeted by Doug. Without hesitation, he was beyond adamant to make the situation right (which he quickly did). While continuing to chat, Doug also informed me of previous history associated to the course, and his overall goals, which aim to create a close community, making everyone feel welcomed, and dedicating copious amounts of time and resources to junior golfers. It was my first time ever attending this course, and to have the owner reach out, expressing remorse for such a rare and simplistic occurrence, proves how much this course cares about its community and patrons. My family needed to find a place to golf between Bloomington, IN and Indianapolis and I stumbled upon Foxcliff. Boy am I glad that I did. The staff was friendly from the moment I called to make a t-time, to our arrival and throughout the day. The course was very nice taking advantage of the rolling hills, creeks and other nature of the land. We ate lunch on the property and hung out for a bit with our family before going our separate ways. Again, everyone was very friendly and the greens fees were very reasonably priced. Finally, I had left my pullover / jacket in the golf cart. Upon sending an e-mail, they immediately responded and offered to ship it back to me since I wasn't from the area. I am very disappointed and had a horrible experience with the way the owner of the golf club approached us and he did not ask a question but immediately asked us to leave. He could be nicer and professional but very rude. I am super new to golf and I honestly didn’t know that one club is only for two people. But I asked customer service before I booked and the boroow me one. I professionally talked to the owner and explained that even when he was out of control.The owner did apologize in the end but I still think what he did was very disrespectful.
