Positive review turned negative. I used to love coming to the Landing MX park because it was a great track to practice, build confidence and better my riding skillset. I’ve spent a season on the intermediate track then moved my way to the “advanced” track where I’m able to hit smaller jumps and keep my YZ250F in 3rd-4th gear around all corners moving around the track at a decent pace. Over the past few years I’ve watched this track go through change of ownership, listened to other riders complain about the lack of safety here due to all skill levels of riders riding the “advanced” track together. If I were a business owner, I would listen to my customers complaints and find solutions such as adding flaggers, and implementing classes when the track is crowded. I know you can’t make everyone happy but today (my first ride of the season) my fiancé was asked to remove me from the track by an unknowledgeable EMT staff member while I was doing my sight lap. He told my fiancé that I needed to double my speed to ride on the “advanced” track. As a woman rider, it is ridiculous that I wasn’t spoken to directly. He should have asked me my skillset where I would have been truthful with him, and told him I was doing my sight lap since there were track changes and was planning to pick up to my normal pace the next lap. Based on the verbiage the EMT personnel used, it was clear to me that he is unknowledgeable about the sport of motocross and is going off of the “7-8 complaints” he supposedly received. He also explained that lower skilled riders have the option to ride at the end of the day and he did not specify a time. With the ridiculous comments we received from this EMT, my fiance blew up and the EMT decided that it was all of a sudden safe for me to continue riding on the “advanced” track. Unfortunately with how unprofessional the EMT personnel was today, he has lost 2 customers that have been coming here for years. On top of this ridiculous situation today, the track is open from 11-4p and closed for 1 hour for maintenance leaving minimal time for riding. On top of this when you are here, your options are a small kids track, an extremely small intermediate track that usually has 30-40 people on it at a time, and an “advanced” track that you aren’t able to use unless you are A or B class. Over the years I’ve come here, I have yet to see any A or B class riders on the advanced track that are safely clearing the jumps. The average rider on the advanced track is sketchy on all the jumps (barely clearing them or landing sideways), casing most of the jumps and several times the guy is landing on the ground with his bike flying in the other direction. Overall, not a great place to ride anymore and especially wouldn’t recommend to women riders because our money is good enough for them but we aren’t able to be talked to directly. I hope the track can implement changes for the betterment of...
Read moreOne of my favorite tracks close to DC! Alittle bit of drive but worth it! Track is fast once you get into a nice rhythm. Not very technical by any means but fun for weekend trip. The ATV track is great but the quad riders I’ve experienced crowd and roost kids for no reason. Otherwise I wish they could be open Saturday and Sunday!...
